I just finished up my KAT build, i had t25, N60, 370cc, and tuned ECU. My timing is set to stock 20 deg ~700rpm. When i rev the engine to 2000 rpm for a few minutes, the turbo manifold turn red hot (glowing), is this normal? i done a few search here and there, i do not have wideband to confirm my AFR, am i running lean? what should i do next? i appreciates any advice. Thank you!

i think running rich or retarded timing...

running lean, a lean condition causes excessive heat

or your cat could be clogged.

Don't drive your car until you get a wideband 02 sensor. An EGT wouldn't hurt either. You need to know when you hit your engine's limits.

well if inthat case the cat is bad and clogged it will cause the TUrbo manifold to turn red hot ?? whoa...never heard that before..lol..might as well leave it..lol....like F1 cars...the Turbo manifold is glowing red when they at high speed lol...JK JK JK
but clogged cat will make excessive heat ??? so today i rev my motor up to abot 2krpm and nothing seem to smoke or burn or glowing...so that mean my cat work then ?

Just sitting still, engine under no load...and you're holding it at ~2000 for a couple minutes?
Yeah, that will cause it to glow.
Same thing would happen on a new Kia, in fact.
Am I reading that correctly? That's not really a test for anything...holding the motor at a certain RPM, under no load...is kinda pointless.

As said above why in the world are you free reving the engine? That tells you nothing at all. And the mani can glow from many things, too lean, not enough timing, too much timing causing detonation and high EGT's. But from what I have read you should take your car to someone who knows what they are doing or give it away. You should not free rev your car under no load for any reason.

If in fact it had something to do with your a/f being really lean and u revv it for sometime i would worry more about warping the head.
