So my friend just purchased a Sparco Sprint V but now wants to get rid of it. So I'm taking it off of his hands and put it into the 14. Just wondering though since I don't have a harness yet, is it safe to install the sparco seat and still use stock belts until I eventually get a harness?
I know most likely not and I sound like a uber noob
[email protected]$$ but just looking for a little knowledge/suggestions. Thank you!

just use the stock seat belts til you can afford harnesses

so you're saying to go ahead and install.
My main concern is that the seatbelt wont be proper since the seat is a fixed position rather than a reclineable seat that I can adjust to. :\

yeah. your s14 right? u should be fine.
if and when you get a harness, mount your harness shoulder height, with harness bar/roll bar whatever you choose.
dont injure yourself cuz of a hobby.

Correct, this is going in a 14.
Also, any suggestions where I can find just a harness bar? Don't exactly have money for a roll bar.......as of now.

I think Mazworx has one in the Advertiser or Group Buy section. Might be for S13 only though..

mrflip - Thank you good sir! That looks great and very ideal! It's in the GB section btw. Awesome!
pahaf - I did come across that, was looking at the NRG one. It's $200...what's another $100 to get a 4pt cage with harness? lol, it makes more sense too. Thanks tho.

you do know that having a harness in a daily driver is actually more unsafe than OEM seatbelts.... research it. youll see what i mean.

I know its S13 but I run a sparco fighter with stock belt no problem, only thing is after a while you can notice obvious wear from the lap belt (I have autobelts so :/ )

ya it is more dangerous. having a bucket seat and harness without a roll bar puts you in a position that could cause serious neck/back injury if your car were to roll over

Mitsubishi Evo's have recaros that use regular seatbelts and so do most cars with racing seats from the factory. It should be good.

Buckets are different than the stuff that comes in stock cars.

Just wanted to update you guys.
Seat is in and Seatbelt works fine.
Lap belt goes across lower abdomen/upper pelvis and shoulder belt (?) Sit properly as well. Does chaff against the neck, but thats where I'll just get one of those seatbelt pads.
Next investments will be a harness with harness bar or a cage.

pretty sure watching koguchi and imamura drifting with no seatbelts or helmets on in a bucket seat has convinced me to not give a fuck about any of this bs

depends on what you use and how you use it
i use schroth asm harnesses which are one of the few, if only, that are DOT compliant. i use them with GTR seats and an autopower rollbar, which has a harness bar and cross bar
with that said, i would NOT use any type of racing harness WITHOUT the use of a rollbar, its mandatory. harness bars are just bullshit, a proper rollbar is a necessity... the bare minimum.
i wouldnt recommend a rollcage or bucket seats on a street car, but some people like bucket seats. i hate them. cool street car owners understand the MAJOR advantage to reclinable seats. personally, i like to kickback and relax when i get some head.
case closed.
