i just bought this 240 with a sr20det in it and the guy said he had a new head gasket put in and the guy who did it didn't get the timing right, so how do i fix the timing, should i start by pulling the front and valve cover off and make shure the timing chain is set right with the cams and crank first.

you can pull the cover for a sure fire way or

set to TDC

set at 9 and 3

then turn over by hand to make sure valves do not make contact with pistons
