haha sorry guys, newb here, but i wanted to ask about how a 240sx rides. Becuase right now i am deciding either a acura TL 99-01 model or a 97-98 240sx and im just wondering how the ride is inside of a 240sx. Is it smooth? how loud can the engine be just stock? thanks...
misnomer

This is all from an s13 driver ('89-94 model 240sx), so take it with a grain of salt. . . I also have no grounds from comparison. So better yet completely disregard any opinion here :P
The 240sx is more of a tossaround car than a smooth driver. It handles like a dream, but won't always level out the bumps (what else do you expect from a sports car dood?). S14s ('95-98) are supposed to have a much smoother ride than the s13, perhaps somebody else could clarify. My motor can have a bit of a grumble to it at highway speeds, something I believe it shares with the s14. Can be annoying, can be enjoyable, depends on your tastes. The 240sx was intended as an entry level sports car, and though it claims some luxury options, a "smooth ride" was never high on it's list of priorities.
Regardless of anything anybody here says, you won't know by what we tell you. Get out there and test drive!

i think the s13 has a little more cornering ablilty. yet i feel that the s14 is alot smoother. i would get a s14 over a acura cause of RWD, im pretty sure the acura accelerates faster though.

the TL is a whole lot fast than the 97-98 240sx ... v-6 ... the only thing is that i dont think they offer a stick ... but the car is a lot nicer ... it just depends on what you want ... if you want to have a project car i would get the 240sx ... if you want a chill car ... get the TL ... its a luxury car ....

Hmm.. I don't find my ride smooth at all in my S14. Maybe you've all been in base-model cars... cuz my SE is nasty over bumps.

No, they're just used to stiffer cars. Different priorities.
If you're comparing the TL and a 240SX and you want a smooth ride - buy the TL.
The 240SX has a very soft ride for a sports coupe. It's much firmer than a luxury sedan though.

What leads you to this conclusion?

maybe he's biased
S14 is more sedanish
s13 is very nimble and light
i've driften and drifted both
s13 is kids play. its response and quick response is unbelieveable.
the s14 took a bit, much harder and a heavier car in general.
of course, s14s take more skill to drift, imho. its night and day from a s13.
my s13 a quick flick of the wheels and im sideways. s14 requires more work sometimes.
just personal preference overall

All that fast twitch response can be built into the S14, though. It is a stiffer shell. Too many soft bushings from the factory.

even stock for stock the s13 is more nimble and responsive. i've driven both stock.

Yes, that's what my post was trying to imply :)
It's chassis tuning, not the chassis itself that leads to that. And the S14 stock tuning is softer.
