help!! keyless entry?

hey i have a 1996 240sx SE and when i purchased it the owner didnt give me a keyless entry remote and to the best of my knowledge it doesnt have a keyless entry set-up. It does have power door locks though... Does anyone know what it will take to install a keyless entry. (Cost, installation, where i can find it)

u might as well get a cheap alarm, if you want to do it yourself you can find them on ebay really cheap if not go to some place and get one for like $200.

I would recommend getting some wiring diagrams and crimp connectors and doing it yourself.


As for alarms I got a crimestoppers one that cost like 65 bucks and works great.

all right heres something to fry your noodle. take the red pill and come along with me. my cars a 95se never had keyless entry. my buddy has a 95se with keyless entry. his remote unlocks my doors. (I have an aftermarket alarm Compustar with keyless entry turbo timer autostart etc etc) his locking and unlocking of my doors however dosent affect my compustar at all. so if he unlocks my car with the alarm on it still sounds if he opens the door.

well i got a 92 Coupe SE. i've been wanting to get an alarm with keyless

ok so i'm not sure if its got power locks, but if i lock the drievrs side the passenger side opens. so whatever.

heres the tricky part i have a new drivers sidedoor, so i really need keyless entry to get in my car, or i haev to go in the passenger side every time. i'm prolly talking it to best buy or something. whats ur .02 cents

damn 240s and their funky door logic. I get about a 100% rate on unlocking the doors with my keys (i.e. both doors open) but when locking, either from inside our out, it works about 90% on the first try, 30% on the second, and pretty much never after that. nebody with the same problem?

Yea the s13's have problems with the door locks, my car has power locks and b4 i got my alarm/keyless entry sometimes they would work and sometimes they wouldn't. What i did is went to the local auto shop in my town had them install me a cheap $200 Crimestopper alarm and they replaced the acctuaters(sp) and they now work with my alarm fine.

I had the same prob the dealer never gave me the keyless remote for my 95SE. I just bought one of of ebay for 10 bucks and reprogramed it problem solved.

I had a problem with my power locks when I got the car. Not sure if it was the same problem. Whenver I turned the key on the driver side door it wouldn't work.

But it was an easy fix, juss remove the door panel, and remove some little cover thing, then find wich wire is not connected, and just reconnect it, I guess it fell out but the clips were still there and now it works fine.

Only problems i had was reinstalling the door panel. The panel itself was easy to put on its just the little plastic piece that goes around the power window buttons, it wouldn't go in, and now it sticks up a little but doesn't really bother me.

An alarm is soon to come though

Im not 100% positive but I think all SE's came with keyless remote entry
