TrialByFire: The Gauntlet, 9-12/13

Ladies and Gentlemen it gives me great pleasure to announce this event. We are bringing you the biggest weekend of drifting and track driving in Arizona history.

WHO: Trial By Fire in association with NASA Arizona, Firebird international raceway, AZDrift and Intense Motorsports

WHAT: HPDE, Drifting, Tandem, Competitions and Prizes!

WHERE:This is where it gets complicated;
SATURDAY 8am-4pm: HPDE at PIR!
SATURDAY 5pm: CARAVAN DOWN THE FREEWAY FROM PIR TO FIREBIRD!
SATURDAY 6pm-12am: DRIFTING at Firebird on the Skidpad and A FULLY LIGHTED WEST TRACK! that is 2 tracks for the price of 1!
SUNDAY: DRIFTING AT PIR! the mother of all tracks for drifting.

WHEN: September 12th and 13th 2009

WHY THE HELL ARE WE DOING THIS? I honestly have no idea. I already have an ulcer thinking about this.

HOW MUCH? Also a good question. TRIAL BY FIRE WILL NOT BE TAKING ANY MONEY FOR THIS EVENT BECAUSE IT IS GOING TO BE RUN AT 2 DIFFERENT TRACKS. PAYMENT INFORMATION WILL BE POSTED AS SOON AS ITS AVAILABLE.

COST:
HPDE: $75 (only with drift on sunday)
PIR DRIFT: $100 (must have completed HPDE1 school)
Firebird Drift: $40


IT IS NOT REQUIRED TO RUN ALL EVENTS! YOU CAN RUN WHICHEVER ONES YOU CHOOSE TO!

If you have the testicular fortitude to run all 3 events you are attempting to complete THE GAUNTLET. Its basically a tour of awesomeness and we will be handing stuff out to the drivers who do drive in everything.

Friends, I have no idea how we pulled this off. The cooperation NASA and Firebird have shown us is incredible. NEVER has drifting been received with such open arms before and its a testament to how far we have come in the years we have been doing this in Arizona.

COMPETITION UPDATE!

We are going to be holding a competition on FIR West.

Here is the competition update. Nothing too crazy but I hope most people will be on the same page as to what to expect.

Advanced:

- Single eliminations. 2 runs per driver. Higher of the 2 runs gets counted.
- Top 8 tandem
- Prizes for 1st through 3rd.

Beginner/intermediate:

- Single Eliminations. 2 runs per driver. Higher of the 2 runs gets counted.
- Top 10
- Top 3
- Prizes for 1st through 3rd

Mantry Award

- The person who does the best entry during a JUDGED competition run gets an extra prize.
- We're looking for someone who will come in faster, more aggressive, and have more angle than anyone else. You are going to have to do something that will really impress everyone.

Rules:

- 3 or more tires off course will be scored as a ZERO
- Spinning is scored as a ZERO
- Speed, Angle, Line, and Style will be judged.
- Consideration will be given to lower HP, less modified cars. We are judging the DRIVER not the car.
- Protests will most likely get laughed at unless it's a real concern. This comp is for your BENEFIT. You are paying $40 to drift all night and have a chance to get some free shit for driving well. DONT FUCK IT UP ASSHOLES.
