No one in San Diego will fuck with drifting. We've searched for spots high and low only to be turned down every single time. Trust me, if a spot opened up you would know.

ya, I understand your fustration. thats why we started hosting events at NOS awhile back because all they had was WSIR and we were located in San Diego as well.

check our website for more info.
www.thursknights.com (http://www.thursknights.com)

there is a event at el toro on AUG 16th (which is about as close as it gets with only 1hr drive and a nice big area to play on.

Federal tires/dais academy also hosts events at el toro (aug 1st is the next one)

adams and inland drift is alittle smaller but gets the job done since its the next closest thing besides a 3-4 hr drive up to Willow springs.

NOS center is in san bernadino and is alittle faster than the cart track. if you see a sign up list for NOS center you should DEFINETLY sign up.
1. the list usually gets filled very fast and sold out due to limited spots.
2. thats a REALLY fun place to drive at for all skill levels! PM me if you have any questions.

how comes none of you know anyone who owns property, especially paved property. all you need is the owners permission of private property parking lot and you can drift all day, cops can't do shit cause its not in their jurisdiction unless the owner calls the police. and what better thing if the owner is with you.

just sign a lease agreement or something contract like that is for that day and that day only, even pay money if you have to.. don't be afraid the way things are now, land owners will practically crap their pants when you offer them $200 to use their lot in the middle of nowhere for the day.

^^^ Thats all fine an dandy but the city is the problem you have to get permission (a permit) and the city will require insurance for that and that's the whole problem the city wont let it happen i live in northern san diego county and trust me it's been tried many of times and it's just not gonna happen.

ya, unfortunatly we have been trying tons of "do-able" locations and have been shot down time after time. however, we are still trying and are not going to give up until we find what we need.
Most of the problem over the last couple years is not enough help with this situation. ALOT of people asking questions and hoping that some local drift event will just pop up out of no where without them having to do any legwork. nothing is going to happen if you dont ask right. as of now I really dont know anyone else thats actively working on this situation in SD besides us, we need your help guys! ....or it will simply just remain the same.

+1, we used to drift every sunday on an empty parking lot that my parent's own. The area needs to be "zoned" for motorsports and etc and also requires permits.

Cops came and didnt care that we owned the property, they threatened to tow all our cars out of there =(.
