This project started with just the SR20DET motor that was installed in another chassis, but spotted a good 240SX and new project was born.

Plans are to do the motor swap bigger injectors, Emanage ultimate and some tuning and see if we can break into the 10sec high range

previous chassis a KP61 Toyota Starlet

I don't exactly know where the distributor came from but i think its from a N/A silvia modified to to use outside coil

No its going to be a street/Drag car well in the Toyota we had some issues of short wheel base and SR20 torque tendencies that didn't work the car hardly went in a straight line so boost never passed 10psi

Jacking up the car on dirt/mud must suck too. I'm also surprised its LHD + ka powered. You think the car was brought over from states?

The body is in great condition it just had a few bad spots which were taken car of, the trunk was paid special attention and i think it came out well.

After the motor is done and suspension then the paint and TLC will be done.

Yes it was imported from the states

No offence but the engine look very beaten. What the hell happened to the ignition, power steering system, wiring ?!? I mean....... it could have been much more simple if you had all the parts to do the job correctly.

Average annual income in Jamaica is roughly under 965,800 JMD or 11k USD. That may have something to do with it I'm sure.

WTF we got everything for the car the power steering will be installed soon. not because the valve cover look beaten means the motor is not solid, infact it was just rebuilt just added the GTi-r pistons and rods for safe measure too, all wiring is complete just simply used the KA24 wire loom for ease of operation.

What is wrong with using a distributor setup? doesn't it make the power needed?
and we got all the direct ignition parts if we wanted to return it to the stock setup.

Obviously project is not complete yet but doing the motor first them worry about beauty

interesting thread... to say the least. kind of sad that everybody feel the need to say "mon". ohh well

Yea motor was rebuild with GTi-R pistons and new conrod bearings however recently we discovered the #4 conrod bearing had spun our observation of the oil pan showed it was bent and may have cause that bearing to go bad. so new Conrod bearings and new oil pan was installed.

* After driving the car without Power steering we had decided it feels pretty good so no rush to install the power steering pump.

* Fuel pump to be installed and wires inside ebay and interior to be sorted on tuesday.

If I where you I'd sell the rims, get used coilovers and slam it on stock wheels if were on a low budget.

Don't get lowering springs on your stock suspension. IMO waste of money. Chances are your stock shocks already near death with lowering springs on stock shocks gonna kill them even more and ride like shit.

Don't get lowering springs on your stock suspension. IMO waste of money. Chances are your stock shocks already near death with lowering springs on stock shocks gonna kill them even more and ride like shit.

you clearly dont know what Jamaica's roads are like..
theres like 1 good road for the public and it's the "new" highway they made from montego bay to like idk where.

and they had to destroy ppl's homes to make it.

well im just saying NO on the noname lowering springs on stock shocks.

I believe he said it was gonna be a drag/street car. I just cant imagine 17s on stock shocks running 10s.

Other than the lowering springs and energy suspension bushings the rest of the Suspension will remain stock no need for coilovers S13's handle pretty well stock when equipped with good rubber.

based on my research i have seen pretty stock suspension S13 on slicks doing 1.4 60ft times so in no rush to change stock suspension and the current shock are fairly new.

Oh where do i start to update this thread
so we hit the dyno few weeks bk and had boost problems eventually made 247whp and 193lbs of torque

here is a pic of one of those dyno runs
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b124/NissanKing/Project%20240SX/dynorun.jpg

Car was also running rather lean and this problem was traced to the fact that i had bored the MAF so currently running the original 50mm MAF housing
the reason for the lazy boost and not getting anyting higher than 10psi was a weak wastegate spring the solution was to utalize the dual port of the wastegate something like this was done
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b124/NissanKing/ewgsetup2.jpg

so received the LSD diff today its from a JDM S13 also got these babies too in preparation for a Drag meet coming up on the 28th of February

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b124/NissanKing/Project%20240SX/IMG_0068-1.jpg
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b124/NissanKing/Project%20240SX/IMG_0069.jpg

Next step is to hit the dyno again and run 15psi of boost that should break the 300whp then see what she runs on the Drag strip

SUCCESS what a difference a lsd makes this car is amazing at 10psi this car feels rather quick i am now excited to see how she runs at 15psi and the slicks

12sec timeslip is the aim

have not been on here in a minute LOL

so took the car to the local drag strip on the west side of Jamaica had a not so good day but happy to finally get the car driven in anger

did a best of [email protected] however did a couple 14.3 @ 118mph the 60ft were some miserable 2.8

yep became aware the my uncle(owner of car) had used a stock pressure plate with the performance clutch so there is your culprit right there

have ordered a ACT complete heavy duty clutch kit so will be bk on the strip hunting the 11s once the 60ft come down we will be right there

So its been some time since i have done a update added a emanage blue to do some tuning the ignition harness is not connected and getting some weird reading from the tach in the emanage software. but here are the results

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b124/NissanKing/Project%20240SX/dyno.jpg

this was at 17psi and Q16 fuel the 2.5 exhaust was choking the car limiting the HP

heading to the track sunday hoping to hit the 12s
