Like the title said, I just purchased new studs and washers from Thenismoshop; however, after I put on everything, I realized that I forgot to put the washers on.. bummer..

I also installed the 8 nuts and 8 studs with threadlocker. The nuts are the ones look like has washers built in. In addition to my installation, I found that the studs are not long enough to fit both washers and nuts. Any ideas?

edit: I have 7 Multi-layer gasket and Tomei exhaust gasket.

i would put the washers on, they give them in the package for a reason... also did you install the studs right? one end is shorter then the other, short end goes into the head, and long end out from the head...

Thread locker melts at around 500f. You needed to put anti seize on the head side, big mistake. Try extracting a seized stud when it snaps, the thread locker will gunk up the thread.

The washers give a proper torque reading, and keeps the tension on the surface of the flange, not the studs.

The studs should be long enough for a washer+flange nut

Edit, does the flange nuts have a ruffle on the back side?

Yes, the end with shorter thread went into the head. To add more info, I have 7 multi-layer gasket and tomei manifold.

I have a feeling I have to remove them and redo it... :(
Yes, I believe so that it has a flange that extand out just like a washer attached to it. I think it serves as a locking purpose?

I'm very concern about this but i'm out of town right now. I found a picture of similar nuts I bought from thenismoshop:

With the extra flange, it takes up the space for the studs to accomandate the washers.

I felt frustrated to put threadlocker at the studs that go into the head. On the instruction, it says it provides anti-corrison. Am I safe to just leave it?

UPDATE: I found out that these nuts integraded with washers that I bought from thenismoshop are S14 SR kouki upgraded nuts.

The normal nuts that installed with yoke washers are zenki S14 SR motor.
