is my diff F'ED????

So my lil brother borrowed my kaaz 2 way diff to take to e-town and drift and we noticed a noise coming from the rear end… it happens when the car is making a turn at slow speeds. It sounds like 4 or 5 loud clunks. It only happens when you throttle on the turns but when you let it coast on neutral into the turn nothing happens. No noise or anything. I bought the diff from some kid here on zilvia a while back and I never got a chance to use it till last night. We checked the oil level on the thing and it was fine. Is their any way of checking the diff to see if it’s bad?? any tests i can do on the diff to see if i got fucked???

mine does the same but i got a tomei 2-way my friend gots nismo 2-way and as far as i know thats normal.

That's the clutches from the differential locking. That's a GOOD THING.

Make sure you use the right diff fluid as per the manufacturer's recommendation.

my bros does that to he has nismo 2 way we brought it back to nissan and they said it was normal so ya i guess its normal

easy everyone, i just wanted to make sure that the sound, even tho its kinda loud, is normal. sorry for the noob question but i just came across some money and bought my 1st diff. i rocked welded ones when money was tight. thanks to everyone who answered me, and wassnt a doosh

yeah man that's an LSD for you. Like people stated before, its a good thing if it clunks. I have the same diff on my car..it just means its working. If you feel like your car jerks alittle its okay too, Kaaz 2 way is a good aggressive LSD

Welded is so much worse; being that it is a clutch type 2 way I would've thought you'd know that the sound it makes is much better than a welded. lol
