UPDATED PG 2, POST 39.

So i don't post much about my car here but i'm in knee deep w/ the car at the shop and figured i might as well copy and paste my build thread i posted on my local ny/nj/ct forum, Import FanatiX Car Club Home (http://www.importfanatix.com). As most east coast s13's, mine was another rust bucket. I'm sure many of you know how they leak from the brake line by the drivers side strut tower, well mine did bad enough to make a huge crack through the strut tower. So here's what was done about it:
After dropping the front cross member and stripping the engine bay, it was time to weld up the rad support because it was held on by 1, yes, 1 spot weld.(No pictures) Then we went to the fender aprons. We decided that there was too much work fixing them properly, so tub it instead.

not bad, just remember to take frequent breaks when welding sheet metal, do about 1" strips and space them out, don't hesitate to take a little break to let it cool. warping metal sucks.

Gonna shoot the bay in a mettalic silver or an s15 silver. The fellow in the dress shoe's my friend joe (lifewater), he just got back from work. Mike, that's at chris's (driver1234) shop, out in huntington. And the ferrari was flipped on the track and i think it caught fire, Yes it's a 360...so light, one person can push it w/ one hand easily. Gonna head to the shop at 5 today and start sanding/smoothing the bay probably, more updated pix tommorow.

Should be painted by tomorrow or monday.

I got no sleep last night being so excited ! So right now i'm feeling:
S15 silver w/ alot more mettalic flake.

http://images.google.com/images?hl=e...=&aqi=&start=0 (http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&um=1&sa=1&q=Nissan+s15+spec+r+silver&aq=f&oq=&aqi=&start=0)

and Lexus Es silver w/ alot more mettalic flake.

http://images.google.com/images?ndsp...exus+ES+silver (http://images.google.com/images?ndsp=18&hl=en&um=1&sa=3&q=lexus+ES+silver)

The s15's a bit dull of a silver, but it's still an oem nissan color, but the lexus silver pops nice in the sun, and has some mettalic to begin with. I'M SO EXCITED !

Out of curiousity, ever consider Silver Moss (http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=silver+moss&gbv=2&aq=f&oq=&aqi=g3)? Good start btw, keep it up :)

Thanks everyone....silver moss is a nice color but at some angles it gives a hint of green. I want more of a suttle silver that would shine and blind in the sunlight.

Hey man ! Long time, thanks alot for those rb's bro, unfourtanetly after realizing how much it'd cost to build up those rb's to have them running, was a bit over the budget =(....but we passed them along to a good friend of ours who already has an rb25 s14, i'll have him post a build thread once he starts it.

UPDATES !

They were made from sheets, hand/roller bent, and welded/patched in, didn't really have a cam at the time. I know there are companys out there that do sell pre made tubs, and i've even see people go to the extent of using trailor wheel wells to utilize as tubs

Took about 10 months (I think) but i got her started. Between School and this it's been hard keeping up. For a while i wasn't getting spark on the first harness me and my friends extended/tucked. I had no clue why, friend of mine stripped down the whole harness and found that the coil wires were burnt along with some other wires. Turns out this harness was in an engine fire.:other_beatingA_Dead So, acquired another harness, plugged everything in as it should from factory and she started right up. I should have done that with the first harness but being that the motor along with anything else in the bay was taken out i just had alot on my plate to deal with/remember. So instead of going as crazy as i did on the first harness i'm just doing a mild tuck on this one, just extending the igniter harness as well as distributor and starter/alternator harness, however i may have to extend some more but as of now that's the most noticeable section of the harness in the bay...good news is i'm using the failed oem harness from the first time to extend wires with so all wires look to be oem. Here's a pic from today while extending the ignitor plug wire,

http://hphotos-snc3.fbcdn.net/hs481.snc3/26332_367722808131_708983131_4952358_2053965_n.jpg

Dunno how to post vids, but here's a link to my FB with the first and second start up vid,
I'm aware i look 12 and act 10.

As of now, i still gotta finish extending/tucking, and then finish my V-mount setup as well as piping and then some misc undercarriage stuff along with mounting my aero and finally laying paint and carpet down. In the market for a Radiator, My I/C is 18.5 end tank to end tank and about 11-12inches tall ( :jerkit2-1: ). If anyone has recommendation, i'm all ears. Spring's about 2-3 weeks away, seeya guys soon !

Temporarily secured harness onto frame, however i don't trust zip ties for such a thick harness, so will be looking for some legit hold downs this weekend. Also, Plexiglas enclosure will be made and mounted for the fuses/relays in fender wells. Approx 13 more to-do's till i start worrying about exterior. Deadline for her is June, painted, running, tuned and ready to be driven. Fingers crossed.
