So I hooked up my HID's tonight and they work great when only lo beam. As soon as i flip on the hi beams, they begin to flash like strobe lights. Anyone know what may be causing this?

Search for SimpleS14's kouki conversion.
He describes the wiring needed to rectify the situation you're experiencing.

Mine isn't a conversion, it's just not working right. Like it works totally fine in lo beam only. As soon as i flip on the hi beams which are still halogens, they start flashing like strobe lights... Can't be good for my ballasts.

I have already addressed this problem in bloody details. The kouki light switch cuts power to the low beam momentarily when you turn on the high beam.
You need a separate relay to keep the low beam energized until you turn the lights off completely.
Not hard but does take some engineering skills.

i had the same problem only my low beams would turn off after i flipped the high beams on. I wired in a large capacitor to hold power to the low beams while i flipped the highs on and it worked great. The problem is that voltage drop to the low beams while flipping the high's on.

That may work for halogens, but itll probably fuck up a HID setup.

I'm gonna run a relay type set up. Not too complicated.

Did you ever fix this?

Wired up a relay harness. Works like a charm. Now i broke a bolt off on my turbo manifold. Anyone in the Raleigh area got a drill, bits and a fluted bolt extractor?

I don't think you mention but is your lo/high HID? If so, did you buy two different HID kit since the low uses H1 and the high uses 9007?

My lo is HID and my Hi is still halogen. I'll prob get another HID kit for the hi beams but the problem with this is that HID's have to "warm up" and since we don't use our hi beams but for brief instances it would cause unnecessary wear on them
