somebody else did the emissions removal on my engine while i had it pulled. about a year ago. so the other day i'm adjusting the idle and notice that two vac lines have no hose or caps on them.

(generic picture)

i thought he rerouted these somewhere, i could be wrong, but now there's nothing covering them. according to this article,

Intake Manifold: Guide to Removing Emissions: KA24ET / KA24DET Forum: Nissan Forums / Infiniti Forums - NICOclub (http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/411262-intake-manifold-guide-to-removing-emissions)

they don't need to go anywhere and i guess you can just cap them off? if i put caps on these would that be acceptable?

That's an S14 manifold. The other end of the hardlines goes out to the intake somewhere. If they're not capped and the engine is idling fine, the other end isn't going anywhere either.

Think about it.

so those are just the ends of the two hoses that connect to the intake? they don't go anywhere else?

i wish i had xray vision :(

The FSM has a good blowup on the vacuum lines, but basically you've got two coming from the front, one from the TB, one from the intake pipe, that branch out and go back to the rear.

Like I said though, nothing is open to atmosphere or you'd have a vacuum leak.

indeed it does. so basically these lines just run to the bullshit i took off, fuck it, cap 'em off for fun, they don't mean anything.
