Ok now i got my car, lets talk about  engine swaps? What would be the ideal engine to swap into a 92 240sx.
I want a S15 motor, and i know it can fit, but how hard is it? and who the #### do i get SR20 parts from???

a ca18 has about 180hp. &nbsp;it only came in s13 and up to type 3 180sx. &nbsp;they have reallly strong internals too. &nbsp;i think it sounds nicer than the sr20. &nbsp;my dad a ca18 in his auster rtt. &nbsp;

how much boost/hp can the CA18 take on stock internals?

It's actually 175hp but who's counting? It cost's a heck of alot less than the SR but, it does not have the aftermarket support of the SR here in the states. You can do more to it without changing the internals. It looks kinda funny in an S-14 cuz it's so small but it works fine.

Ok i was thinking about tossing a S15 into my car. Now your telling my the CA is stronger. How much are they and can they be turboed. Now if i plan to Turbo a KA24DE what would it take? WEST could you help me with this one. I have a Engine with 60,000 miles on it

Hmm.. I'm pretty sure that it would be REALLY easy to turbo a CA18DET, I mean.. REALLY easy.... Hmm.. I'm gonna start a new thread that Everyone will hate me for.. I wanna know who likes what swap and why.. SR20, CA18, KA24DET... =P

notive the T on the end of CA18DET i wonder what that means? Oh yeah it stands for TURBO!!! It can take about 350 HP stock internals, it's recommended to upgrade them after 350.

350 on stock internals!.. daammnn,, whats the KA recommended at? &nbsp;Also, can u really find CA engines for 1000$? that seems like an awefully good deal.. &nbsp;especially if all u have to do is slap on a bigger turbo to get 300+ horsies. &nbsp;How hard is it to swap into a s14?

i said $1000 as the lowest price. I would'nt pay over $2000 though. Getting 300 HP isn't as easy as slapping a big turbo on there and i never said that it was. You need all the normal extras to get big HP just like every other engine.

Get the s15 SR. That would be one badass s13. If you have the money for it then do it. Otherwise even a s13 or s14 SR20DET would be fine. I would only go for a CA if I didnt have much $ and didnt plan to mod the #### out of it.

If your engine only has 60,000 miles and is in good working order, then I would turbo the KA, the company's that sell the kits for them include all the parts you need for the swap, just have it installed and go.

Oh, only 60k. Do the KA! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

Ok from what i have been reading, we have the CA which is really strong internals and would be good for a huge turbo, problem is no good support. then we have the SR which are good engines. Then the Ka now the reason i haven't considered turboing the ka is because the odometer is bust so i could be 60,000 or more, even at 10000 would it be worth turboing? west how could i push 350Hp out of that engine? basiclly what would it take to hit that goal. cause i have been thinking that why not turbo a KA it seems to be a good engine.

I thought the SR had really strong internals as well?!

Not sure of it but i'd say between 350-400 would be a good guess.

the ca18det is suppost to be an engine that was ahead of it's time when Nissan built it. it was out of production after 3 years I think, because it cost too much to make. They replace it with the sr20det. The head design of the ca is better than the sr, so it can rev better than the sr could. but turboing the ka to make 350hp you will need about 440cc injectors means the ecu needs reprogramming. the cams that comes with the ka is made for torque so you will need that regrind for more high end power. but power is still limited on the ka cause of the weaker pistons and a 9.5 to 1 compression ratio. you have to ask those companies that sell the turbo kits, what kind of fuel they used to get their hp figure, some of them run on such high octane fuels that you can not get at gas stations. &nbsp;so don't just look at the number of horses, look a bit deeper into the details. Hope this help you out.
