search and didn't find a definitive answer / write up.
so i picked up a j30 diff with 6 bolt axles but i want to swap the internals into my s13 open diff so i can keep the same length housing and the same gear ratio. i know i will need to put the vlsd part and the out put flanges into my s13 open diff. is there a write up or a step by step anywhere on this? thank you

The J30 model that uses the same front and rear bearings in the differential as the S13 is the 01/92 - 06/94 JPY32 (J30) so I would make sure if your trying this to use that specific year range of J30.
You would also have to ditch the J30 ABS companion flange and keep your existing S13 non-ABS companion flange which is no problem.
