I'm hard wiring my walbro on my s14 and I'm a little unsure about how to do it. Here is what I've come up with so far. I was wondering if I could use the 12v switched wire to trigger the relay in the diagram on the non pump side of where I'm going to cut. I'm also unsure about which two wires to cut. I think the yellow is the 12v and the black with the spots is the ground. (The two on top in the second pic)

This is 'old-hat'...
Black with the yellow stripe is the factory switched +12v feed.
Use it to trigger the relay...and of course, use the other side of it to feed the pump.
The factory ground has proven to be just fine...so you're only cutting one wire.
87 to the pump (b/y wire)
30 from the battery (dunno why...people normally use 30 for the feed...contrary to your diagram)
85 is a chassis ground
86 is the b/y wire (chassis side)

Because 87 is normally open, and 87a is normally closed. 30 is common.
When no current is applied to 85/86, 30 and 87a are connected.
When you apply current to 85/86, 30 and 87 are connected.

It doesn't matter. 30 to one, 87 to the other. They connect when the relay triggers, it's not like current can only flow one way through the relay.
