Hey, I was going to purchase an exhaust off of another member here with stock piping and an HKS canister style muffler. It looks as if the piping is unresonated. I was just wondering how it would sound. Would it be quieter than a 3in or really raspy and high pitched? Is anybody else running a similar setup? Thanks.

My car had an Ebay muffler welded onto the stock piping when I got it. It sounded pretty good actually.

Sounds like a swarm of bees in a coffee can.
I dig it.

No sir.
I would never pay for it, but I would never pay for any exhaust so I just keep it.

Even for $45? My current exhaust sounds like complete ass.

$45 is crazy cheap considering the can itself goes for more.

As long as it is a real HKS can, it should sound good.

I understand that but you did say As long as it is a real HKS can, it should sound good. So I am just saying its not "Always" true

On a 240 it generally is. I have yet to hear an HKS exhaust/muffler sound bad on an S-chassis.

And I would have to agree with you on that one I am yet to hear an HKS not to sound good. All though the HKS Dragger kinda sounds weird but doesn't sound bad.

Well, it's being sold by drift freaq and I understand he is a rather well respected member here? So I'm guessing it's a legit HKS muffler.

anyone have a sound clip of a stock exhaust system on a sr20det? is it quieter than the ka motor or louder (i would imagine)? will it have a raspy sound to it or not when hitting the higher rpms?

The one I heard sounded even quieter than a stock KA.
