oem replacement water pump and starter for the SR20det reveiws from Enjuku please post here.
this is what i think of it and the steps i took before i replaced my old water pump. and last but not least the review.
these are steps i took to install the water pump.
1. drain the radiator fluid on the radiator.
2. loosing the alternator tensioner bolt by using a 12mm wrench or socket.
3. take out the bolts on the mechanical fan using a 10mm wrench.
4. slide out the pulley with the alternator belt.
5. unbolt the bolts on the water pump using the 12mm socket with an extension. and take out the water pump.
6. clean the surface of any debris or the old liquid gasket where the water pump was.
7. put in the new water pump with the gasket.
8. go back to step 4 to 1 when putting on the water pump and the rest of the stuff.
9. pour radiator fluid back in the radiator fluid
10. bleed the radiator to rid of air.
the motor is running fine. on my PFC temp reading is 75-79 degrees at normal driving in the streets and the highway is about 79 degrees. this temperature is with a Koyo race radiator and stock mechanical fan. no electric fan.
i hear no irregularities at the moment. no weird water pump failure sounds when carefully listening to my motor. nothing seems to be a problem yet. i tried to beat on my motor on the highway to test the water as well as testing my TOB at the same time since i replaced both of them. seems like i dont have a problem with the water pump at the moment.
the only thing i would like the water pump to have is the studs for it since it was a pain taking the old ones off my old water pump and stripping a few during the process.
but all togather everything seems good so far.
further test on will be at the tracks as soon as i can get things going or well when i go back to my parents land again where private roads are. i'll be pushing my motor to its limit and see what its going take the abuse.

+1 for the water pumps.
I actually just installed mine earlier today. It came with the extra paper gasket so thats a
plus.
Make sure to use high heat silicone when applying the gasket.
its fairly easy to install.
great replacement for a oem water pump for a good price.

yes it does come with the extra paper gasket. simple intall but you'll have to remember that you have to bleed the radiator system to get rid of the air thats inside.

I received this water pump from Enjuku Racing as an OEM replacement; keep in mind this is not the Nissan OEM, according to Ken it is suppose to be like a duralast type of replacement where you get the same part, but just a different label. Anyhow, as soon as I opened up the box I noticed it was obviously shiny. However while looking at the pump itself I noticed there were no groves for the RTV gasket but instead it came with a gasket of its own that you simple place between the block and the pump. In my opinion, I liked that better than using RTV because you don’t get as messy.
Another thing that I was impressed with was how easy the installation was. The holes for the bolts matched up exactly like the OEM pump. The fins also spun with ease and I didn’t notice anything irregular about that.
However the only con I can think of, which I’m not 100% sure if the OEM from Nissan includes, is the studs for the pulley. I had to take off the studs from my old pump and put them on the new one which was tedious and I also had to run a die on some of the threads because some were stripped. My biggest concern was that if you’re pump is old and busted than you might have to go out and buy new studs which just adds to your cost and time.
Anyways, the pump can be purchased from www.enjukuracing.com (http://www.enjukuracing.com/)
Tools:
-10mm Socket
-10mm Wrench
-12mm Socket
-12mm Wrench
-14mm Wrench
-Oil Pan
-Coolant
Procedure:
0.)Begin by draining out all of your coolant. I’m not 100% sure where the drain plug is located at on the OEM radiators but on mine it was on the lower, driver corner. Unscrew it and let it drain into a pan.

1.)Next LOOSEN the 4 -10mm bolts shown.
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y178/duffman1278/Trouble%20Shoot/2.jpg
2.)Proceed by removing the water pump/alternator belt by loosening the tension screw located on the alternator. As well as the bolts identified, and one more on the bottom of the alternator. Opposite of the circled nut.

3.)Now you can push the alternator in and remove the belt with ease.
4.)Remove the bolts identified in step 2 and take the pulley off.
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y178/duffman1278/Trouble%20Shoot/4.jpg
5.)Before removing the bolts off the water pump, make sure to have an oil pan or something to catch the left over coolant from the block as there will be plenty of it left over.
6.)Now go ahead and remove the 5-12mm bolts holding the water pump as identified in the image.
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y178/duffman1278/Trouble%20Shoot/13.jpg
7.)Since there will more than likely be liquid gasket holding the water pump in its place after the bolts are removed, take a rubber mallet and lightly tap the water pump till it pulls off.
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y178/duffman1278/Trouble%20Shoot/6.jpg
8.)In order to have a clean surface, take either a putty knife or razor blade and slowly and carefully remove the excess gasket that remains on the surface of the engine block where the water pump mated.
9.)After making sure the surface is thoroughly cleaned, you are now ready to put your water pump on.
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y178/duffman1278/Trouble%20Shoot/8.jpg
10.)Unlike the OEM, this unit does not require the use of an RTV sealant since it has its own gasket. Simply place the gasket between the surface you cleaned off, and the water pump and then put in your 5 bolts back by hand.
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y178/duffman1278/Trouble%20Shoot/11.jpg
11.)Since this unit did not include the studs I did have to pull them off my old water pump and then put them onto the new one. (For a how-to on removing studs look at this link)
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-intake-exhaust/217981-how-remove-exhaust-manifold-studs.html (http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-intake-exhaust/217981-how-remove-exhaust-manifold-studs.html)
12.)Tighten the 12mm water pump bolts to 12-15lb-ft of torque and reinstall the pulley.
13.)Put your belt back onto the alternator and water pump and retighten everything back to spec.
14.)Tighten up your alternator and make sure to put back the tension on the belt.
15.) Now all that’s left is to put in new coolant into the radiator.
16.)Do this according to the Nissan Factory Service Manual procedure, and bleed the system.

I also purchased one of the OEM replacement water pumps from Enjuku. I'm running a Koyo and the factory clutch fan in my s14 as well. So far it's working great and I haven't had any problems.
The one issue I had during installation was with the lack of studs. I just took the pump with me to the hardware store and found some automotive studs that fit (don't remember the size off the top of my head though). I think the studs cost me an extra 4 bucks or so, which considering the super low price of the pump was not an issue at all. Other than that installation was easy.
I would definitely recommend the pump to anyone. A+

Buy a Water pump from autozone or kragen or whatever, they come with studs for the fan then return the pump haha

Thanks a lot for the how-to. I'll be using this when I replace mine in the next month or so.

Anyone who thinks the paper gasket is nicer then the OEM silicone is a dumbass.

Just a heads up on the second write up mid page, it's a lot better to drain the cooling system by removing the lower radiator hose, most of those radiator drain plugs get cross threaded easily or leak after they're removed.
Nice write ups though guys.

Please disregard this post. If you crossthread the drain plug you shouldn't be attempting to change your water pump anyways. Also they rarely leak. I know this for a fact because I am a mechanic and have removed and re-installed hundreds of drain plugs. I have yet to crosthread one and I have only had one or two leak.
