View Full Version : How often do you get pull over in CA. Read it in a popo point of view

A lot of the time you may heard from people saying: "it all depends on how you drive." Or "Just don't drive like a jackass." And all, "you will be fine." I've found it has been understood wrong for most of the time after reading the following article. Now I have a second thought on my SR swap after reading how this Evo owner hassled by all those po-po on their turf.
Why do Officers always ask to pop my hood in SoCal? (http://forums.officer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=73003)
"...the reason that us trained cops continuously pull you over is for the possibility that you might have modified something. Just because the car comes stock the way it is doesn't mean that you didn't still modify something under the hood. So, get used to it."
Now realize what is the real reason why you would get pulled over in CA.
Discuss.
cliff notes:
1. A stock Evo owner complained on an officer forum that he got his hood popped while got pulled over for no legitimate reason for multiple times.
2. Numerous of cops replied him that he and his car are potential "ricer" and profiled as a street racer. Few cops explained that even some stock vehicles come out from factory are not legal.
3. Under "Probable Cause", a cop can inspect your car (not search). In which means, an officer could pop your hood without a warrant.
4. Solution offered from cops are: change vehicle to minivans or wagans.

you have no idea how many times i get pulled over a month, at least 4 to 3 times and thats for just driving or for being at a stop sign. only once in my life have i been pulled over for speeding and that was for doing 4 over the limit.

If you have been pulled over before at the same cause, POST UP a picture of your ride.

makes sense, that guy who started the thread was a fucking retard, if you choose to modify your car , deal with the consequences.
Thank all the idiots that race on the street and kill innocent people.
KA with good suspension is just as fun as an SR with stock shit if not more fun.
i've had my hatch for 2 months now and i've been pulled over once for no front plates, which is understandable.

Don't start the hate. The guy who started the thread (which is me) does not want to discuss whether or not worth it to modify your car. In fact, the reason behind the rummor why that you would get pulled over.
The guy who started the thread over the officer forum is not a retard either. Indeed, he does not involved with the topic of street racing. He asked the right question for most of you who don't know the real cause of cars getting pulled over for no reason.
Again, no body wants to start a thread discussing KA vs SR.

Poor Evo... I have an exhaust, I have headers, Intake... slotted drilled rotors, wheels, blah blah but I don't drive like a dick.

ok...maybe not a retard but very annoying. He kept asking the same question over and over after it was answered numerous times by different officers.
that red coupe is lowered has after market wheels (enough reason for a cop to pull him over if driving) not cool that they got you for tint while parked.
I dont think its fair when cops give you a hard time, if they pull you over for tint or being lowered, etc... just give the ticket and be done.

If you read more objectively, the cops also replied repetitively using many controversal topics as their supports. ie, a cop subjectively believes that a car is illegal mod'd even fresh out of factory.
But I agree with you that the red coupe does give many probable cause for the cops to pull it over. Not to mention the last pic that the s13 got a cage in it and the faulty front plate... love the picture though.

oh man!!
to the untrained eye an evo like that can look modified, which is what the cops were trying to say. They dont know what's stock and whats not so they profile cars that look modified, like that evo or a lowered 240sx or a honda with a fucking ironing board on the trunk.
If i was cop, I'd probably pull over ricer hondas all day and give them a ticket for bad taste.

Exactly! But consider the 4.4 millions that issued to the CHP local grants for a modified car ticketing campaign, and they still couldn't able to tell what is stock and what is modified. In my point of view Probable Cause is used faultily by the law enforcers.

Haha thats funny but thats not how the system works. The municiple government makes money off fining people and thats what those chimps do. What do you think speed traps are made to keep the public safe? hell no, you see lots of them in backwater towns leading off the interstate. Its for profit! (Im not paranoid lol)

They should send you a "1199 Foundation" sticker for all of those donations.
*edit - wonder when will this be moved to the regional section? Im sure the rest of the forum is a little tired of all the CA whining and crying about mods + cops.
Fucking subject is done. Its not going to change or get any better. Deal with it or GET THE FUCK OUT!

Once again, Zilvia is not a California based Forum. :lockd:
