driveshaft HELP

hey guys i tried typing 's14 driveshaft' on the search but nothing i found related to my issue so i need ya'll help. I have a 5spd s14.. what happened was my old tranny stem/teeth where the driveshaft is supposed to slip into does not at all.. it goes in about 1-2mm and gets jammed.. now the teeth slips in but the housing around it seems a bit small or the driveshaft is a bit big? is it supposed to be easy slip on or hammer?
