so its a red top 62. the situation is the ecu got wet while driving through rain. the car turned off and i saw that it got wet. so i smelt the ecu and it had that burnt smell so i said to my self its basicaly fucked. so i let it dry out (it wasnt that wet). went to start the car and the car starts but idles real bad and doesnt rev up past 2500 rpm. the ecu light stays on constanly. i switched out my maf, no difference made by that. should i get another ecu or could it be something else. i thought the car wouldnt run at all if the ecu was burnt up. advise please.

yeah its bad. you can try to clean the white electrolytic corrosion off and have a look to be sure the traces and solder still look ok - if so - try it out.

the white shit on there shorts the other shits together - if you clean that shit off - it still doesnt rev - its trash

wet ecu's are usually easier replaced than fixed.

wet + current = electrolitic corrosion

what i thought was wierd is how the car still starts.
