I just finished the sr swap and it runs and everything. All of a sudden the starter just locks or just stops cranking. After a 1 try of cranking it gets really hot. So i switch it out with another starter that is known to work and the same thing is happening. It just keeps on locking up and not wanting to crank over. Could this be a wiring/electrical problem that is making the starter lock up or just bad starter? I also went to autozone to check if the starter still passes it tested GOOD!!!!! So the main question is if this could be an electrical problem causing this problem or not??? Thanks for the help

make sure your engine is properly grounded, add a ground on the Starter/tranny bolt
also a good charged battery

so ground would make the starter lock? Its like really loud against the flywheel.

Maybe the teeth on the starter are not meshing up properly and locking up struggling to crank over, that's why it's getting hot. Only a guess on my part though.

try this, I had this gremlin last week.
weird as hell but this worked for me
take a breaker bar and socket and turn the crank shaft back a couple of times and try to start again
