ok i have a vlsd that i got off a guy and he had it for god knows how long, it works looks fine but i want to change the diff oil before putting it in. I have 90pa oil from motul and was wandering how to put it in....i know feel kinda stupid about asking. i know how to drain it threw the bolt but what about putting new stuff in? is it like the trans fluid, where u have to use a pump? any thing helps. thanks

actually when the diff is out its so much easier to change the diff fluid you dont need a pump at all . pretty much just keep it level and pour the fluid through the fill plug and wait till it spills out a little bit then you know that your diff is full .
just be sure to use wd40 or somthing on the drain plug and fill plug , you dont wanna strip those bolts cause then you're fubar.

There are two plugs on the diff, one on the bottom and one on the back cover. Remove the plug with a breaker bar and drain it from the bottom first. Once everything is out replace the plug.
I would personally change the seal on the cover while you have easy access to everything on the housing and you don't know the last time it was changed. Last thing you want is to have a leaky seal.
Remove the plug on the cover and have a buddy hold the housing up while you refill. Once you're done plug her back up and go do some doughnuts.
