ok so my power window on my 95 s14 died...just the driver side...i tested the window switch and amp on a friends car and it works fine...so im guessing its the motor...
1. what other car uses the same window motor as a 95 s14 that i can get from the local pick a part...or will i have to get a s14 one???
2. the window is rolled down and i cant get it to go up or can i get it up some way?? do i need to remove the whole window and brackets to get to the window motor??

1. it could just be the contacts inside the motor.
thats what happened to mine when my window was stuck down.
motor went out and i just swapped the contacts from an s13 pw motor.
2. if you put a battery to the pw motor wires and it works then your motor is fine and its something else.
thats the only way you can get it up.
yes, you do.

maybe its your window amp that what happen to me
If he put power directly to the plug for the motor it wouldn't be the window amp. Take it apart and try cleaning the motor contacts inside. If that doesn't work then just get one from a Z32 like russ said.

You've been here three years, there's no reason for you to ask such a remedial question.
Remove the regulator completely, then take the motor off the regulator. How else do you think you can do it, besides cutting sheetmetal?

i just replaced my motor today. take off the door trim.
unscrewthe thing that the door handle connects to. unplug harnesses.
i would reccomend unscrewing 1 side of the window from the motor. then unscrew the the motor then the other side of the window. slide out motor. to put new motor in, pull the window up as high as possible. put the nut on it,and stick a socket extension on there so it doesnt drop. install 1 screw to new motor, as well as 1 nut to window. that way you can still shimmy it around. then the other window nut. now just slide the motor around till the other 3 holes line up.dont forget to bolt down the adjusting arm

okay so i took it apart today and messed with the motor a bit and put it back and it just started to work???but the switch is working backwards???if i press it down it goes up atomactly and if i pull it up then it goes down???what did i do wrong, the plug for the motor only goes in one way so it cant be backwards and the motor only fits one way???

im not too sure sure about that. i do know that something just switches the polarity to the motor. there are only 2 contacts in the plug. to go up, it sends positive through one and neg to the other. to go down it does the oppopsite. like... pos-A neg-B for up, then pos-B neg-A to go down
