Okay, so I searched and someone was in the same predicament, but never thoroughly had their question answered.

Anyways, my question is, what exactly is the best way to get to the top transmission bolt?

It seems as if there is no possible way unless removing the engine.

I know people do this shit with it still in the car, so, I wanna hear how you guys did it.

Thanks a bunch.

try taking out the drive shaft, then tranny cross member, lower the tranny enough to get to that top bolt. thats how i did it.

I understand what your saying.

That's the current status of it, and I still cannot get to it....

Swivel head, longest extensions you can find, interconnect them (long enough to be longer than the tranny) crank it off from the back.

Okay, now that that is done.

Noob question. How and what are the dowel pins and how do I remove/reinstall it?

Either or, I don't know which ones I have to remove/reinstall.

And what do they look like?

Leave em where they're at. If youre mating back the same tranny into the same engine, you dont have to worry about the dowel pins. All it does is help you line up the tranny into the engine. When you put everything back together, dont forget to put in the tranny plate BEFORE you put the flywheel back on.
