I'm sorry I took so long to get back to everyone I have been busy with work and school. We currently stand at approx. $540 for an s14 CF trunk if at least 5 poeple buy. We decided that no third brake light would prolly be easier anyway so we went without one. As for the s13 hatches those canbe done as well for about the same$$. The price may be slightly higher or slightly lower depending on how much CF is actually needed. We are hoping lower but don't wanna estimate low for your sake.
HERE IS THE CATCH.....We need a donor hatch and a donor s14 trunk. neither of them will be returned because they wil be destroyed in the replication process. I could proly get an s13 hatch but I definately cannot get an s14 trunk since mine is a daily driver. If anyone has any info or a trunk themselves that they don't need let me know please.
I tried to post this in GB but it wouldn't let me so hereit is. thanks, joe

I'd would buy a CF trunk over the summer sometime. So mark me down as a probably for the future. I can't donate my trunk, though, unless I would get a CF trunk for free or really, really cheap. I have a second car so if a deal was to be had for that, it would be a possibility.

if the CF hatches were finished, glossy CF (that wouldnt need paint, like a hood) I might be up for but defintely not till I'll be back in the country in august.
I just bought an engine, or am in the process of buying.
So what will the finish be, and will they use the stock glass or plexi? stock glass would be nice to retain the deicing feature... its invaluable to me!

mark me as a possible buyer for this summer, maybe sooner if I donate the s14 lid and get a really good discount on the CF one.

Hello, how about an s13 trunk. I think a few people should be interested in that as well. I am willing to give up my trunk as donor but definatly would need something in return.
Thanks, Asgar

As for the glass or lexan I have not discussed this. I would say you would use your glass but if you wanted lexan it would be more for the lexan itself. These will be finished CF as far as I know. As for the s13 coupe trunks, It also could be worked out but right now this is just for the other two.

lexan scratches fairly easy man, it's also not as good as glass with condensation... ever had water on the inside of your hatch from snow condensation? not cool. Also glass shatters, and that's a GOOD thing, lexan tends to break in trianglar spikey shapes, perfect for flying thru the back of your head, ack.
Put me down for a hatch if you guys end up making them.

So what is the incentive for the s14 trunk? Most places give you the product for destroying your old one, and letting them make the template that many, many other trunks will be made from.
PM me on this... I've got a car just laying around.
Also, I'm not going to say anything about where to get them.. but making s13 hatches probably isn't the best idea, since they are already available, and fairly cheap.

Yeah i would be really down to pick up an s13 trunk for the coupe if the finish is nice. All clear coated and wut not. And of course i would expect the fitment to be pretty good right. This is for a showcar so yeah. It needs to fit pretty good.
As for doors I think im jus going to go import some HPI carbon doors. Those are badass.
But yeah let me know if u have plans to do an S13 trunk.

I'd be willing to give up my S14 trunk and pay $100 for the C/F trunk. How long will the process take?

I could give you a donor hatch. It's kind of a messed up hatch, in that it had tons of rust, and the previous owner started to bondo it but its still messed up.
I think you could use it for the most part, the part by the spoiler is just messed up. You might need a few measurements from a good hatch to finish it off though.
The good thing is, it's free, and I'm going to be in ohio in a few days or so. Let me know.

Thanks for all the offer's. I will get back to some of you in the next couple of days. I am trying to find out what kind of incentive we can give the person donating the trunks and hatches. I will hopefully know tomorrow. lata, joe

My s14 trunk is perfect, and I'm willing to pay some. I'd pay $100-150 as well for the C/F trunk :)

Yeah depending on how fast you can make these trunks. N whether or not u will be makin a s13 trunk. I could give up my s13 trunk. It looks like mines gonna be out of commission for like another 2 months so yeah. N also wut kind of deal u can get back on the carbon trunk would be a factor.

Ok, well I am not sure on prices for those that donate a trunk or hatch yet. I haven't been able to get ahold of my guy yet. We can attempt s13 coupe trunks but for now I think it is best to stick with just on eor two things. after we get s14 trunk and s13 hatches we cam move on. I found out why they are like $540. This is all hand crafted work. Unlike CF hoods that are done in mass quantities these will be done by two guys. I will keep you all updated as I get more info this week end. lata, joe

Yeah, I can get you a good hatch for the right discount. I don't mind shipping it...but we'll have to work that out with the discount.

hmmm interesting..
for the hatchback cf ones..
are you going to have an option of plexi or other lighter than glass substance or is it just cf hatch itself and we figure what to do

I would say you would use your glass but if you wanted lexan it would be more for the lexan itself.
Does anyone know what the weight savings would be on the s14 trunk? No sense in speding $500 for a 2lb weight reduction :)

I'd definently be interested in the CF S13 hatch. Too many "speed holes" in my current one.
EDIT: Out of curiosity Jeff, why can't you let us know where we might be able to get an S13 hatch. I REALLY need one...BAD!!!

The Carbon fibre used wil be grade A. It will be the Highestr quality possible and a perfect fit. This will not need modification and will be much higher quality than a normal carbn fibre product.
Well, we finally got ahold of the manufacturer and here is his take on the subject. The s14 trunks are a go for $600 plus shipping. They will be hand made and a totall one off design. These wil be a direct fit. The S2000 CF trunk are msrp $1100 and are generally selling for $800+. This is not cheap but will be well worthit for a custom look and weight savings.
S13 hatches are possible but $$$$. Again one off design hand built. Unfortunately the price will be close to $1000. It will include everything needed to put the stock glass back in. It will not actually come with glass however.
In both cases we will need at least 10 people and a prepay of 400 dollars. The total time of production should be 2 months to your door. I know this is expensive and I'm sorry for the 10 person minimum but like I said this is a one off product and this manufacturer will only sell through one company.

sorry, count me out. No way I can pay more for a CF hatch than I paid for the car. When they were in the 500 dollar range I was tempted, but for 1000 bucks I could make 5 of my own.
