so i was contimplating the other day

if i took the rear section of an AT s14 ABS driveshaft, and the front section of an s14 MT None ABS drive shaft, i could have pretty much an ABS manual driveshaft, this in theory would only work if on the rear halves of the drive shafts had different lengths...well it turns out that it both halves that are different...

i think im right

S13-1st section (no difference for ABS/non-ABS):
M/T: 395.0mm (15.55")
A/T: 432.0mm (17.01")

S13 2nd section (no difference for MT/AT)
non-ABS: 605.0mm (23.82")
ABS: 590.0mm (23.23")

S14-A/T 1st section = 421.0mm (16.57")
M/T 1st section = 441.0mm (17.37")

S14-ABS Rear Section = 636.0mm (25.04")
non-ABS Rear Section = 650.0mm (25.59")

since i could only find one measurment of the MT first section (the half that connects to the transmission) but obviously 2 different measurments for the rear half, im lef tot conclude that only the rear half has different sizes and the MT front half are all the same

discuss...

The drive shafts you are measuring are A/T and MT they are different yes.
but if you have 2 M/t or A/t you will see that the front sections are the same regardless abs or not. And the only difference is the rear half which is different in length between the ABS and non ABS!

and the front section of an s14 None ABS drive shaft

This is where you became unclear...aside from the lack of objective. There's no such thing as an ABS or non-ABS front section. The front section will either be auto or manual.

If you're switching from auto to manual, then you replace the front half from a manual car of the same chassis as yours.

Either that or go one-piece.

So it's the rear portion that is specific to ABS or Non-ABS?

If this is so then I just lost a freakin' sale! GRR lol

well then, i guess i was right then afterfall...

if i were to take an ABS rear section and a MT front half, id get a proper length ABS MT driveshaft for an ABS model S14 ?
