Hey, I know this is a totally noob ass question
but could someone give me the run down on how to do an oil change on my S13??
im a new driver and just bought my 91 240sx about a week ago
i checked the oil, and there is only oil at the last quarter inch of the dip stick
should i just add some more oil? <and if so, what kind> or should i do an oil change??
also, so says a friend, i need to flush my radiator soon, could i get a rundown on how i should go about that??
thanks

Might as wel change your oil bc its a freshly purchased car and I'll be nice
Put car on jack stands preferably raising the driver side higher than passy
Place oil collecting container underneath oilpan/drain plug
Unscrew oil input on valve cover
Unscrew drain plug I think its 14 mm
Unscrew the oil filter, its on the passenger side of the motor
Screw in new oil filter, make sure to lube the gasket ring with your new oil
Tighten oil filter to about 2/3s of a turn after it makes contact with motor
Rescrew drain plug after all oil has drained
Fill motor with 4 qts of oil through valve cover
Screw in the cover.
Done.
edit: I can't believe I just did that.

awesome man, thanks a bunch
are there any specific types/sizes of oil filter i should be looking for?
or just ask for a "general oil filter"??
also, what about the type of oil? any specific grade of oil i should be paying attention to?
oh, here is some info on my car, pretty much all i know about it
1991 240sx KA24DE engine automatic transmission
about 102k miles on it
dude i bought it from had it for about 5 monthes, and in that 5 monthes he really didnt do too much work on it at all
but! it runs great! runs strong, tranny runs good, great handling on it
its a pretty good car all in all...

It's best to change the oil. Who knows when the previous owner changed it last. I change my oil when it is warm, I either just get back from somewhere, or just warm up my engine first. Changing your oil is really a simple task.
Take off your oil fill cap on the top of your engine. Crawl under your car and remove the drain plug from your oilpan and allow the engine to drain. Once it is done draining replace the plug. Now remove the old filter (which is located under the intake manifold) it is easy to get to from the top or the bottom. Make sure the old metal gasket came off with the filter and is not still attached to the block. Get your new filter and give the rubber gasket on that a quick lube by dipping your finger in oil and run it around the gasket. Turn the new filter on until it makes contact with the block then give it an additional 3/4 turn.
Now fill your car with new oil. Should be around 4 liters. I usually fill it with 3 1/2 one liter containers and go from there. Replace your fill cap, run the engine a bit and check the level. If it is low, add more check again until you have the right amount.

I run 10-w40 pennzoil bc I leak if I use synthetics. This car is a DD so its not like I need a superior oil.
For oil filters go to a dealership and just get OEM ones. Just ask them and they'll help. It'll be around 6 to 7 dollars each.
