Couldn't agree more. :D Pretty sweet. But what is that? The, what, 3rd issue with street racing as a cover story?

I know its rediculous... lets see, the media sells our entire hobby out as a dangerous X TREME sport and exaggerates the whole thing!
so what the hell, the sport compact cars will all come out with their features on 2FAST AND 2FURIOUS and go ahead and sell out the street racing image.
You see, SCC has already done JDM, that angle is played out. They already did street racing, that angle is played out.
but jesus! JDM STREETRACING? holy **** I'll pay 3 dollars for that.
seriously, I love SCC and read it cover to cover 20 times each month, but is it just me or have they really gone down in quality (and amount of long articles compared to ads) in the past year?
If you wanna see a really good magazine I just discovered, its called grass roots motorsports, a LOT of import features, no BS, just a lot of tech articles on making cars go fast. Its not too much thicker than your average import mag, but it has a lot more sustance.
and a plus for me, no more talk about the guy's mad tite annodized aluminum cup holder (modified mag).

Grass Roots Motorsports (GRM) is WAY better than SCC, and they are splitting off the British car stuff, and focusing much more on the import, and newer car scene in racing.
AWESOME mag.

Agree 100% chimp.
Awesome magazine with no emphasis on show...all go. Thing I like best is that (above all the racing tips and the meat and potatoes of the magazine) is that when you flip to the Tire Rack ad, what do you see? Nothing but lightweight wheels in sizes and widths that people actually use for TRACTION.
Sorry, Dousan, but this mag is not for you. Hahah! j/k
I still get SCC just because some of it is rather funny. And they do have decent coverage of a wide range of stuff. Since I don't read any "mainstream" car mags anymore, that's my source.

Where might I be able to find this Grass Roots Motorsports? I have only heard a few people on here talk about it, and have never seen it in any local book/newpaper stores. I presonally read Super Street, because I have a 2 year subs. to live out. Well its not too bad I just look at it as a soft core porn mag anymore.:p

I think the same thing about scc. I looked at my old magazines of scc and was very pleased with the articles. I have been wanting to write them because the mag is really starting to suck.

SCC started getting worse when they got that new editor (Scott Oldam); he’s trying to portray an image of being like tough guy magazine editor. And they’ve gone away from the do-it-your’ers. They’ve also let go of some really good writers (Shiv Patak, Mike Kojima).

yeah.. scott oldham is a dumass.. he's their "showy, rice" editor.

well, take their recent projects...
remember project sentra SE-R? project Datsun 510?
you and I coulda done those.
Now look at their projects... hey, lets buy a used 240, drift machine for 3000 dollars! here, lets put this clip in.
ok so far?
alright now lets buy some 2000 dollars coilovers and a 2000 brembo GT brake kit!
project 300zx? ended up totaling like 45 grand.
Its geting to the point where they quit building stuff for us to learn from and started building **** up just because they could.
Their tech articles suck, did anyone else notice how sketchy the article of the MR-2 swap was?
also, was I the only that noticed that a month before SCC posted the v-6 mr2 swap, turbo magazine had already covered the compound forced induction step?
what is it with all these import magazines having the exact same features?
You guys seem to like grass root motorsports, there is another mag I like, its like 7 or 8 bucks, its really big, and printed on like newspaper paper, but in a big glossy cover. It covers drag racing... if you are into drag racing, its the same deal, imports, all this tech stuff, dyno charts, it kicks ass.
I normally will read 10-12 car magazines a month.. I'm a junkie for information.

SCC, Import Tuner, Turbo, Honda Tuning, European Car, and VW Trends are all owned by the same company, which is why they tend to recycle articles and pictures, just with some delay.

Get Option 2 Magazine, if you can find a place that sells it, there monthly issue is about as thick as 3 months of scc's and a years worth if this months turbo mag, its so thin, go buy this months turbo, its tiny :)

I don't know how many japanese speaking guys there are on this board, but I'm not one of them. I don't think I could stand seeing all that cool japanese **** and not understand a single word of text in the magazine.

the car is bad. but thinking of the price it probably cost to build that car,(granted most of the parts were theirs) do the R&D, and all the track time they put into it. the price is probably rediculous. oh well there is nothin wrong with dreaming. espcially dreamin big:D

i still read SCC, but i agree: Oldham is an ass. Were it not for Jacquot and ESPECIALLY Coleman, I wouldn't even bother with it anymore... and I signed up for the Grassroots Motorsports free issue :D
