So I've had to rebuild my SR20, and am ready to drop it back in to my 240, but want to make sure I don't mess it up. I know I should put it in, hook everything up, fill up fluids etc. From there I should remove the spark plugs, and disconnect the fuel line and turn the engine so the oil pump pumps oil to the turbo and cycle it through the engine again (turbo most imp). The after doing that for 20-30 sec, put the spark plugs and reconnect the fuel line to the engine. Start the engine and have it run at 2000 rpm to create a good wear pattern on the new cams and rocker arms. Is there anything else I need to do apart from what I've already mentioned? I also have a new clutch (so I need to play nice for 500 miles for the clutch and a couple thousand for the engine break in).

if your engine was re-assembled properly and has assembly lube on it, you should be able to crank it a few times w/o the ignitor hooked up to get oil through the pump and then plug it back up and you're good to go. Run the engine for about 10-20 miles and change the oil to make sure no debris are in it.

I just went throught the exact same thing and did all of the steps you are talking about. I basically drove the car very easy for 300 miles or so but putting high gear/low rpm loads on it, and heat cycling it often. Driving up hills a gear up and shit like that. Changed the oil at 300 mi. and then began to put some boost on it. I'm running a t3/t4 50 trim and I would pull it up to 15 psi and do short pulls at WOT but not letting it spin over 5500 rpm. Over the next 300-500 miles I began to increase the pulls up to full RPM gradually, 15-17 psi. It's good for the rings to boost it for sure, cylinder pressure will allow the rings to seat properly, I just didn't go crazy w/ it. I've had great luck w/ my motor so far, it now has 2200 miles on it and I'm drag racing it and driving it like I normally would.
