ok tech heads, ive asked alot of people this and havent gone anywhere with it. i need some help.

problem is when im coming to a stop with my foot on the clutch pedal, my car still wants to die like its in gear. when im at a stop, it wont go into 1st. i have to rev the motor slightly, put it in second then into first. sometimes when im driving it gives me a hard time putting into 4th also. usually while downshifting from 5th.

s13 redtop btw.

clutch is an act stage 2, fairly new was put in like 6 months ago or so, by me. properly. pilot bearing, throwout bearing put in correctly. flywheel was resurfaced with no lip, they shaved it off which sucks but i had run one in the past the same way. clutch master was replaced, nismo slave was put on. clutch system was bled.

ive always had clutch problems with this car, and i drive normally, i dont do stupid shit and i dont fuck up the clutch. first clutch i put it was an exedy stage 2, it wore unevenly, then i didnt have money so i put in a used stage 1 exedy and that clutch lasted until death. then i put in another stage 2exedy and the pressure plate went bad or something. so i put in an ACT to try a different brand. i was impressed and liked it better. but then this problem started.

my plans atm are to replace the pivot ball with a nismo, and maybe change the fork, if not i will at least eye it and look for bends or cracks.

anyone have any info i would love to hear it. thanks

Try bleading it again, and adjust the pushrod on the clutch pedal. Or just adjust the pushrod on the pedal an see if that helps.

Do you still have the dampner loop? If you do, take that shit out...re-bleed the line and adjust the pedal to engage/disengage halfway.

ot but i have a nismo coppermix and its fantastic.
if you can snag one i'd recommend it.
single plate unsprung solid disc.
really smooth engagement and pretty light pedal feel too.
way easier than alot of puck clutches i've driven.

Check the clutch fork and make sure when you release the clutch that it comes all the way back, you should be able to push on it and have it slide even farther back. If not the TOB can get stuck on the small groove on the input shaft. I doubt this is your problem because of how its acting but I'd check just to make sure.

Adjust rod and maybe you need to replace the slave cylinder. Probably worn out especially on a heavier clutch

ive done both already.

to everyone else, yeah im guessing it has to do with the fork or pivot ball. but just wondering if any other ideas

When the TOB gets stuck it causes it to stay pressed up against the PP. Does it slip when driving normal?

nah, clutch doesnt slip at all. it just has issues coming to a stop, and at a stop. feels like its not engaging or disengaging all the way. or like i said when im driving trying to downshift doesnt let me put it in gear sometimes.

but clutch grabs just fine. and was installed correctly.
