Has anyone heard anything about them? They said that they would do a group buy for $270/hood +120 shipping, and give free billet hood pins.
They don't roll their edges, and it seems like a lot of people are making a big deal out of it. Anyone have experience or hearsay about their hoods?

I'd be careful about cheap hoods. I went to my friend's Car shop today and he got a CF hood for a customer. The customer requested a brand that was very "no-name" but got a great deal on the hood. At first look it didnt look so bad. It had a decent latch but the edges were not rolled. We picked it up to check the weight, and then we noticed that when you place the hood behind a light, u could see straight through it. It was funny. Now we know why it was so cheap. Oh well....just be carful and as said before...u get what u pay for!

yeah.. thin CF hoods age badly.. low wind pressures over top of them make them flex, and get stress cracks. beware.

yeah i'm pretty sure you'd be unhappy with unrolled edges.

well if u feel like being greedy...buy like a dozen of those things and sell them to your friends for twice the price and say its "JDM" so they will be like "wow i want 100!!" jk

"brand name" versus name doesn't make a bit of difference.
If you think the name changes the product, it doesn't.
Find one that is quality. If its a street car, make sure the hood isn't going to warp where your turbo is.
Of COURSE the carbon fiber hood is see through!!
der.
If you under stood the manufacturing process of carbon fiber or fiberglass products, that would make perfect sense to you.
That just means its a very thin layer of carbon fiber, which is one most of the race guys use (light weight). A whole lot of the "brand name" carbon fiber hoods are fiberglass hoods with a carbon fiber layer. They are a lot more durable, resistant to warping, and such, but the don't have nearly the weight savings of a thing carbon fiber hood. Of course, since most guys don't care if it actually saves weight, and instead like the look, it doesn't really matter. Rolled edges are a nice detail, one that will make the hood hold up longer over time.
I know a prominent manufacturer of CF hoods claims you can "run over their hoods without hurting the hod."
Thats great, but since when did your damn hood NEED to be ran over?
