my ca has 80K on it and is basically stock, recently i have been having engine troubles. it starts fine but idols a little rough and high plus it blows black smoke and condensation with what looks like oil out of the exhaust. when i step on the gas the car will hit about 4000-5000 rpm then all of the sudden stop. feels like i hit a wall. is this a boost cut from a blown turbo or fuel cut? also the car is defiantly running rich the spark plugs are covered in black soot, not oil. please if anybody has had similar problems how did you fix them??

Your kind of in the dark with a non consult ecu. Do you have a wideband? What air fuel ratios are you running and do they go sparitic?
It surely wont hurt for you to clean you maf with maf cleaner. Make sure to get real maf cleaner too, dont use brake cleaner or electronics cleaner, get the real stuff.
It could be as simple as that man. If not make sure your tps is set up CORRECTLY, dont just go messing with it in order to get it running better.
Also make sure your timing is set properly.
If these things dont help you your going to have to start spending money. There are boards you can buy that add consult to your ecu and you can see whats actually going on. If your cts is bad it might think your engine is hot and dump fuel and the list goes on. These boards I speak of will actually allow you to change engine parameters and tune but just take it a step at a time. Check out the things I told you first before we get ahead of ourselves.

to be honest right now i think the turbo is shot, there is oil up the intake and coming out of the exhaust plus its not spooling smoothly at all during even slight acceleration. i have cleaned the maf, didnt help.
i am currently in the process of gathering/purchasing the turbo, manifold, oil lines, vacuum hoses, grounding kit, fmic, fpr, fuel pump, z32 maf, injectors and some sort of air fuel management sytem. im hoping that i dont need to rebuild my engine but i will if neccesary, doing a compression test tomorrow and we will see how it goes.
does anyone have any suggestions with how i should/could go about tuning? im new to dealing with ecu's and turbos. have done mechanical or bolt on upgrades to previous cars never tuned.....?

Well you really do want to get the problem sorted out first before tuning. Im not trying to spam peoples threads so Ill just leave it plain and simple. I think nistune is the best and most cost effective way to get a very good custom tune.
I thought this before I became a dealer. I used it before I became a dealer. Im just confident in it. Check it out! There is a nistune questions thread I started on this site if you want to read up on it some. You can also check out the NIStune site at nistune.com

I thought I would add that Nistune for your non-consult ecu, is the only product that will give you consult capabilities. With the Nistune software, you will be able to log, and view various pids, via the usb connection that the Nistune type 1 boards use.

Is there an illness causing people to stupidly raise FOUR YEAR OLD THREADS with nothing to say ?
Because it sure looks like it is spreading.
And yet another one with low post count. Are you a bot, or are you just trying to get a higher post count so you can post in the sale section ?
