My friend swears he saw a sil-eighty on campus this weekend. Does anyone here know anyone that has one that might have been in Champaign this week? I'd really like to meet up and see the car.

just the fact that out of all the other 240s in town (there are about 10), i'm the only one that has ANY modifications. also, being that they have done a Silvia front end swap, perhaps they are interested in cars and would like to share stories/beer sometimes. i'm just trying to find out if this person/car is known.

Ive never seen one but hope to soon ;) . Someone told me they saw an orange S14 with s15 front end roaming around my school showing off. And this one kid in my school got an EVO :D , too bad he don't know how to drive stick yet:o
Anyway maybe they'll show up to a 240 meet, there are a few people on these boards that don't say anything, so we'll find out on the first meet.
Almost done fixing up the site James. Juss need to get some buttons and such.

It's all good though. I'm from Cham-bana so i'm used to the farms. Plus it ain't exactly city livin out here guy. We do have imports out here, i can't really say that for Cham-bana. Sorry Eric and a few others aren't included in that non import mix

All I remembern from when I was at UIUC was a bunch of really loud civics and integras.

Sup Landon! Representin' east coast and midwest at the SAME TIME! Booyah!
Duff, you're right. Most every car that is modded down here is a ricer Civic. However, the other night I saw a nice Eclipse...straight thru exhaust. You could hear the turbo spooling from the back :D
And there was a nice Supra the other day with a loud-ass BOV.
Other than that, yeah, it's not so great. My car is 'sleeping' right now, so no one even looks at it. Until I bust a huge powerover on 6th Street and all the bar peeps shout at me! HA!
So, any idea who the Sil-80 person might be?
Eric
p.s. I had dinner with 3 beers...sorry if I'm chatty.

Not to jack this thread or anything but I totally empathize with you guys in Champaign. In GB we have 2...yes, two 240sx's roaming the streets. I have one and my buddy (RHDS14) has the other. No 240 love up here at all :(

There is supposed to be one from St. Louis that goes to school somewhere in Illinois. Now thats not all that helpful but he could have been up visiting or he may go to school elsewhere in the state and just been rolling though? I have never seen the car though. LOL There are now 5 SR powered cars in St. Louis that I know of and 1 KAT but I am still the only car with the Silvia conversion that actually lives here. Of course my car doesnt run so no bragging coming from my camp here.... LOL
What color was the car? I ask the other guys who swear to me that he exists.... ;)

Yeah, it is kinda creepy. At the same time it's kind of flattering.
I mean if someone said "he who owns that red fastback with the smashed up fender, missmatched wheels, part of the muffler scraping on the ground, with duct tape covering the holes from where the spoiler was" I would probably be more flattered than freaked out. But thats me. :p

about the s14 w/ s15 front end, yes it exists.... i've seen him plenty of times in the chi-town area and yes, it is orangish... and i do know a few people with modded 240s down there too... it's nothing, trust me... if you're willing to sit down and bbq and have beer, and don't mind driving up to milwaukee, i have a bunch of buddies up here who would love to make new friends... if you really want to see that 240, he's usually at events, like the Battle of the Imports at the Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, or Hot Import Nights in chicago... it's pretty neat though, i think he's sponsored by Body Werks if you know what shop that is...

Yeah Eric, I know you had good intentions- but it looks like no one knows him. I apologize for the rant- I hope you understand where I'm coming from.
****in' chill, man. I'm not stalking the guy. I didn't even SEE the guy. My buddy who lives on that street did. He didn't even know what it was...he said "Hey, I saw a car that said 240SX on it, but it had fixed headlights".
So, I was just trying to see if there was another 240 dude in town...especially someone who might actually give a **** about their car.
Damn. I'm not stalking. I don't even really care if anything comes of this. Get off your high horse, James.

I bet it was just a nissan stanza. I see those all the time at night and from just the headlights in the rearview I always think maybe it could be a silvia front end, but of course it's always a stanza with a hole in the exhuast. It would be cool if there was one in chambana though.

My brother has a Mazda MX-6 and was getting soem JDM projectors on and they didn't do the greatest job on customer relations. The JDM headlights ar one piece and a bit different shape, while the USDM ones are two piece. Well when they installed it, it worked for about 2 days, then he goes back and they said that something is wrong with the bulbs, so he got new bulbs and then they went out again, so then he goes to a dealership and they tell him that the wiring was all messed up when the headlights were installed. So then he had to go back and get them fixed by some light place cuz he was getting sick of Body Werks and thier attitude.
Someone put it best, if your not European they won't give you good service. But some people do have good stories about them, but I will never go there for anything.
Cliff Notes: Body Werks sucks on 5 days out of the week :p
