In the past I've gotten away with spraying a can in the cap and working with that paint, but for my SR valve cover...is there a 'high temp' paint that will hold up on a valve cover that comes in small quantities? I need a little bit of several colors, just don't want to waste money on all the high heat paints when I don't need much.

I just used some regular automobile paint...Autozone didn't stock robin's egg blue in high temp haha

It's held up for the past month just fine...

Though nothing on my car is particularly done right.

That's still too large a quantity for what I'm trying to do. Also, the valve cover will be painted white first with high temp paint if that makes a difference..

Hit it with the High Temp white base, then grab some Testors Model Paints, or something similar. It should last plenty long enough for it to be cool.

Hell, junkyards mark engines and parts with Sharpies, and cheap-ass paint markers. I've seen those markings stay on valve covers and such for years.

very true. I was hoping someone would mention testors paints. Thanks for the input.
