i have a deal that came my way.
trading my Clean title 89 sohc hatch with HKS coilovers, clean interior, passes smog, NO Problems at all.
FOR
a S13 hatch with Rb20 that is primered, clean title, godspeed coilovers, gutted. typical street drift car.

he wants money on my end but i know RB's dont go for much.
Whats the most you would put up on my end if any.

Not worth it on your end, swapped/gutted/primered cars are everywhere. Finding a mint car from what you describe is getting harder every day. Keep you car, save your money, and do a swap if you would like. I would not risk trading cars just to inherit someone elses headache. Especially if this is your only vehicle and you are new to the game.

depends on what you plan on doing owning a 240sx? daily? track car? bit of both? remember, your in cali, are you able to support yourself if you were to get reffed? many things to consider besides the car itself.

fucking rights.

don't risk getting someone else's problems. Some stuff that won't be apparent right away like cold starts, long drives, hard cornering...

if you have a mint platform to start with, do it right

Like others have said I would stick with the car you have. Honestly from the description it does not sound like you're are getting a clean car. I personally stay away from primered cars.
First off primered can mean a number of things most of which are potential problems.
i.e. primered because its hiding home done bodywork. Primered with shit primer which means work when its time to paint.
Primered which means previous owner really did not care about how clean his car was and pretty much abused it. Plus you would be trading for a modified car with primer not a good combo.

In effect potentially someone else's headache, especially since they want to trade for your clean car. That in and of itself speaks volumes against doing the trade.
If they were trading a different car that was not modified? Sure. They are not they are trading a radically modified version of your car for your car, which is basically stock. Get the gist?

I'd rather build a N/A KA24E than a worthless RB20. Money on your end? That's hilarious. He should be paying you to take his headache away.

This is one of those VERY rare times that I shall agree with Koopa... Don't do it.

But alas, you probably will, given your age, and the likelihood of you saying "ZOMG, RB20! GIMME GIMME!"

Take that money and invest it in track time.

took the words right outta my ass. Finding a clean a 240 with a clean interior is rare. assuming yours has a clean interior.

i would say do it if it were an even trade. if your gonna do an rb swap there is no point in doing an rb25 or rb20 you can do a 1jz for less money and make a lot more power. as far as cash on your end thats rediculous.
