Sup Zilvia, after upgrading my drive train i seen to have a weird issue. im still in the break in process. all work done by me, myself and I. after swaping in a fresh KA i upgraded my slightly slipping stock clutch setup. :see specs sheet below:

chassis 91 koop!

motor: ka24de 93.

drivetrain: ACT stage 3 HD pressure plate, ACT 4 puck unsprung clutch, fidanza alum flywheel. new drive shaft from a 93. throwout bearing, pilotbushing, slavecylinder, clutch master have all been replaced new.

miles on drive train: less than 300.

This is what im seeing, if i drive normal im good i know i need to put at the minum 500miles on my new set up (which is fudging hard when my car was down for a year).

Anyways, when i drive to and from work its fine. if i drive a lil hard, nothing crazie maybe WOT through the gears, i see some slippage.(sometimes) but only if and when ive been driving for a while like miles. Also it does not grab as aggressivly as i thought it would. (yea i want that shit hardcore lol) when i park and let it sit it goes away. it seems it's overheating.

today while waiting at a muffler shop i left my car idling with out the e-fans on (im hardheaded and do not run a clutch fan) my car over heated (im such a stoner dumbass) a bit, nothing extreme. I turned on my e-fan and my engine cooled down, but when i tryed to leave my clutch would not grab at all?? i had to let it sit for 45 mins and it was ok to drive home. Today i did not do anything diffrent no hard driving, i did stop at a couple places with my car on though.

im dumbfounded, its like it overheats i let it cool down and its ok? wtf mate!!? should i have to run my e-fans all the time? i usally turn them on when im idling after my car warms up. off when im driving. i know this cant be normal for a new setup/break-in. my clutch pedal feels good and never feels squishy. when it wouldnt grab it did feel a bit stiffer? and my fluid was not bubbling or anything crazie either. ?????

what i would like to know is,

1. why this is happening lol
2. possible causes
3. ??????
4. profit...er wait nm...:naw:

basicly, my clutch is slipping its brand new i think cause it overheating halp!!!!:fruit:

maybe i'm mistaken, but wide open throttle thru the gears isn't an easy "break in" maybe you glazed it. does it smell like burnt clutch?

dam :( no, no weird smells ive really been easy on it no down shifts or anything, my motor is rebuilt all bolt-ons, getting ready for turbo.....

you think i upgraded too much?!?!?1 mabey i should get a 6puck sprung? clutch disks are pretty cheep.

did some research on "glazing" as ive never fubar'd a clutch before lol. and most ppl see a "chatter" i dont?? also i guess im lazy and i dont depress the pedal all the way down for shifts, mmore like middle.

im gona adjust my pedal and go from there thanx for the answers so far. keep em comming.

Chatter is very obviouse when you are in a higher gear and at a very low RPM... usually to low for the high gear... its not always that noticable with a single plate.

Un-Sprung Clutch is not easy to drive and makes you learn to drive a clutch the correct way... blip on down shifts mainly. You may get a Barking sound when you are in heavy traffic and on-off the clutch alot... this is basically a slight slip from not lifting off the clutch as fast as it would like.

I have a Twin Un-sprung in my EVO9MR and its not easy on Daily Driving.

Glazing?? maybe... ACT should have a better compound but I wouldn't be supprised... its not like you purchased a OS Giken/ Tilton/ ATS/ etc..

Did your pedal pressure change?
Harder/ Softer?
did you bleed the system correctly with the right fluid after you changed the Slave/ etc...?
Did you eliminate the Loop in the Hard line?

ill check the loop(i want to get a stainless steel braided line )

but after the upgrade my pedal is a lot stiffer and feels good,

the system is defiantly bled correctly, if not i would think my pedal feel would be weird.

ill keep driving it, i did not mention that this is my first "un-sprung" clutch, and i kinda jumped the gun a bit i think.

i went from stock oem set up to what i have now. ppl told me to get a 6 puck but again im hardheaded lol...

thanx drew +posi rep 4 you..
