:rant2: fucking great, sr has given me problem after problem.

heres whats going on.
ive searched up and down through these fourms, nothing really adds up to my problem. okay. here we go.

sr20det redtop. s13.

morning: starts car, lots of water comes out of exhaust. car warms up, water no longer is coming out. i go around my block, haul ass get the car hot.. come back, i put the car in neutral, give er a nice rev (6500) run to the back side of the car wait for the rev to go down them i am cursed with a slight spew of white smoke.. nothing spectacular just a tiny spew..

BLOWN HEADGASKET BLOWN HEADGASKET, this car will end up taking me to the grave.

heres more details. car has overflow, no bubbles in overflow.. no MILK on oil..
ive had the oil in there for a while, so if water was to froth i think it would be happening allready.

i have a leaking valve cover gasket (from the back), and leaking power steering. fluid is everywhere pretty much under he hood. there is *NO* smoke on idle. the smoke doesent COUGH out like in giant poofs either.
power is fine, car hauls ass like allways.. i dont have the right temp sensor, so it does gradually rise, s13 into s14 swap. smoke will auctually rise a bit i was at the gas station at night, with bright fluro lights, it rose about 3 feet from my back bumper i could still see the particles of smoke through the fluro light..
exhaust smells like premium gas burning to me.. when the white smoke comes out it doesent smell very chemically sweet-ish.. it smells more burning like oil. when i was working on the PS hoses i noticed there was ALOT of residue in the turbo intake piping, and im allready knowing in all the rest of the piping.

after smashing on the freeway, ill get to the light, and some smoke will be coming out the hood hitting the lights in the front, more then likely power steering fluid hitting something hot, it spews everywhere. ?

there is no thermostat running in the car. and heater still blows hot.

is this safe to drive. is it time to sell the car?
thanks.

lol, i think he means its prob the turbo. ;) Pull off your hot pipe and see if you have oil residue in it. Maybe give the turbo shaft a few ol yankaroos and see how much play you have in it. Most likely its your turbo. If it was coolant youd know it.

allright ill check when it cools down outside. black car, black tints, black wheels, all black interior no shade with my dome underneath the hood = hot.

ill check for hot pipe residue and ill see if i can get my hands to check shaft play..

turbo spools up very nicely though.

by pulling off the intake from the front of the turbo. And someone correct me if Im wrong, but even *some* oil in your hot pipe indicates oil seeping past the bushing in the turbo yes? Like you said though, you are just getting a wee bit of smoke, most of the time after driving the dog shit out of it. So yeah, when you drive the piss out of it your oil pressure goes up and the turbo spools faster probably allowing the oil to seep by. You prob wouldnt see any indication on your plugs either because it burns right off. Im sure someone can tell you how much longer you can drive with your turbo doing that as im sure many have had this happen.

I'm no expert, just giving my 2 cents:
1. Buy a thermostat.
2. It's probably your turbo

Also, can't blow by cause some oil to be in the charge/hot pipe?

Do you have a catch can? Sounds more like you have blow-bye. If you're turbo was going you usually would see more smoke then what you're seeing. And 90% of the time when you have oil in your intake and don't have a catch can oil is escaping out of the valve cover and going into the turbo intake causing smoke like this and if you have a bov that's not circulating the oil will blow out of there causing smoke when you get done doing a hwy run.

turbo intake has no filter, just metal mesh.
valve cover leaks bad.

i have no oil catch can..

im going to put my thermostat back in shortly..

ive never understood people who dont run AIR FILTERS on a car meant for driving on the street. Have fun scoring the piss out of your cylinder walls as you suck up bits of sand/whatev.
