s13 1990 with 89 sohc installed by someone else... not sure who

okay so i finally got the car running... after 3 batteries and a alternator...

once i got the car running.. i noticed my gauge cluster wasn't working anymore... the gauge cluster was original working.. every time i push the cruise button my engine temp goes from hot to cold... rpms don't work lights on cluster stop working... but brake light and gas light seem to work just fine...
the dom light doesn't work, the rear view wiper doesn't work
radio...
basically everything in the car.. seat belts etc.. one side does one side doesn't..

so i started taking apart the fuse box... and since the car has a motor swap done.. not sure by who... found tons of wires crimped together... and wasn't sure where to go from there.. it looks like he did a neat job but no soldering or heatsrink just crimps... i can take a picture and post... and see or if anyone can just tell me is everything suppose to be color coded ? like purple with purple brown with brown, etc... since its same motor... maybe before it had a dohc... not sure... i've checked all the sensors they look good... ...

also another issue... usually when disconnecting the battery terminal when the car is on... the motor is suppose to stay on.. because the alternator keeps it running... i got the alternator checked its good but the car doesn't stay on...

and also i have to hold the gas pedal a good min. or so until all the power actually goes thru out the car.. the front lights, turns signals won't work until i'm holding the gas down at around 2500 rpms for a min or so.. and then all the sudden everything starts...? front wipers etc...

If this person before messed with the wiring, If i were get another wiring harness and replace the crap job he did. And your motor shouldn't be running at all if you disconnect the battery. Check your ground wires, those are usually the culprit with alot of electrical problems.

A car WILL run just off the alternator once running...

Or was that just a typo?
