i was thinking of getting another 240sx..coupe
silvia face
recaro seats (daily driveable liveable)
put the HEs on it (very streetable)
2way LSD (naturally)
silvia face (non projectors=can get easily, maybe aero bumper=can get easily)
and use my 4 luggers on it
my current fastback
go 5 lug
kei office xr coilovers
finish up the suspension (6 pieces left: hard tie rods, endlinks, flca, a-arm, toe and traction rods)
eventually go SR20det S14 engine.
anyways.
anyone got future plans for another car? haha..im so bored today.

ka-t no interest
SR i can get any parts CHEAP and fast. no problem
also my current KA soundsli ke it has aftermarket cams right now. its 100% stock but after excessive abuse has made the idle rough. haha..
maybe KA-t. but id' rather go SR. cheap easy and abundence of parts. KA-t is sweet, but its not for me.

If I get thise fastback, its on. Sell the FB I have now (90) and get a 92 Coupe.
FB:
Undecided Suspension, Pilot Bars, KVR Pads and Slotted Rotors, Steel Brake Lines, Ab-Flung flush headlamps, C-West g/f. Undecided on the rims. We'll see. SR20DET, all track
Coupe:
Silvia nonproject lights face. KA-T around 14psi, street car. Motor will be rebuilt before I turbocharge it...

'cheap' is relative
my SSS was 'cheap' but TOO EXPENSIVE by most people's standard

Jed's Sure fire way of getting a cheap cheap Nismo LSD:
Step one: find hot girl
Step two: get hot girl to flirt with parts guy at nissan counter
Step three: Have hot girl complain to Service manager
Step four: for any complaints the Service manager (depending on how he feels) will usually give you sometype of discount i.e. free car wash, etc..etc..
Step five: U come in and ask service manager who's been harrassing your girlfriend
Step six: Agree that for a nismo 2way LSD you'll not go talk to your lawyer about this.
Done!:D
Hopefully mine will be in the mail soon. However I didn't use all of these steps:D

i've been contemplating (sp?) the idea of turbo charging an 84 MKII supra . Well, more like swapping in the 88-92 supra turbo engine.
But i've also thought about building a sleeper turbo S12 or 89 MR2.
What i WANT is an AE86 hatchback, but like Foxcolt said, they're impossible to find, especially here in SoCal.
so many ideas....so little money......

Bought a 300ZXTT Saturday :) Thats gonna be my money pit.
Gonna buy a 240SX in a few monthes to be my daily driver and possible Auto-Xer, so mostly suspension mods and upkeep of the motor (don't want to take the Z to the track much)

My future plans:
Ovevia!
My RPS13 chassis is a little rough. When and if that dis, i will swap all my parts over to a Onevia. hotroad (or Sexy Style by then) bodykit, twighlight Amethyst pearl paint, kouki 180sx blacktop, Nismo S.S.S., JIC FLT-A2's (maybe something else by then?), some largus sway bars, Ikeya-Formula suspension upgrades... Mmmm...
I'm in class. More about this later. (actually, Aaron, you were the first one to hear about this plan, so... haha):D

heres my dreamer, 89-90 hatchback, s15 face (stock bumper (does it fit??)) s14 SR20 (I love KAT but need a change ;) ) suspension up the yend yang, 180 tails, 180 side skirts, paint a neutral color, and super sleeper to all the fools around here. I think the s15 front end looks pretty stock on a HB when done right. and id use an 89 90 cause even my dreams have budgets :)

Who's really really really bored and starting to get delusional While I wouldn't mind the attention from the hot girl, you really don't have to go thru all that trouble with me... :p And for the price of the SSS LSD, getting a regular mechanical 2-way doesn't make sense.

hard tie rods
i know 2 people who have broken them recently at the track
advantage of hard tie rods:
at least 40% increasement in strength over stock (thicker too) so you can drop a wheel off the track or if you drift, the abuse is alot on them you wont snap it in 1/2. the people i talk with say its one of the weak points on the car (and its in a vulnerable place)
some also increase turning radius. check out this thread on FA for info. it still confuses me but im KINDA getting it. im definately upgrading in the near future. :)
Link to FA (http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB9&Number=67322720&Forum=UBB9&Words=tie%20rod&Match=Entire%20Phrase&Searchpage=0&Limit=99&Old=allposts&Main=67322720&Search=true#Post67322720)
everytime i go drift im paranoid now. i am going to pick up some autozone cheapyone for backup. its good to have backups at the track when the track is 2+ hours from home!!!

Bottom line, by me showing interest on a forum, it in someway promotes his product. I'm sure he's gonna get at least two more emails from people concerning this. Those might be potential buyers.
Plus it's less time consuming as i don't have to send him an email asking the same thing I just said.
Pet peeve of mine :p

so how does HIM pm'ing you get info to others? he'll have to pm them as well. but he'll pm them because THEY PM'd HIM!
why clog up a thread w/ 'pm me price quotes/info'
its just ridiculous.
also there's lots of info on the SSS in this forum. i've posted about it MANY DAMN TIMES. people pm me: ive never heard of the SSS till you said it
to which ir eply, then you didnt research enough
sss is pretty damn famous you can find tons o info on the net
look at any pro D1 car, most all (exception of VERY few) nissans run SSS for the most part (if they go nismo)

actually i got mine thru ruf
when it gets on my car i'll have a full write up on it. if that wont spark enough interest, then i dont know what will
shoot, i'll even post some vids of it in action! haha...that is, me in action ;)
maybe i can get better at my 3rd gear drifts (er..i've already done a few already hehehehe..still learning)

Plans? I don't make plans, I just sort of roll with it.
Next car will be some sort of hatch or small wagon daily driver to replace the GTI. Possibly new, possibly very recent used. I'm getting sick of this 6+ year old, 100,000 mile car BS, at least when it comes to getting in the car in the morning when I'm tired and cold and just want to get to work without my car bitching about it.

I saw this post so i figured i would post my dream machine which should be almost done in a couple weeks.
90 hatch
RB25, Greddy intake manifold, FMIC(awaiting for install)
JIC FLT-A2's with JIC F/R tower bars
Nismo tension rods(on order)
Apexi N1 single
VLSD (for now)
5-lug (on the way)
Skyline rims
Rear subframe spacers
180sx tail lights and type x wing(Later)
I will not mod the body for a while to keep the sleeper look but plan to do the r32 front or S15 with the vertex kit. The rest of the suspenion will be finished when I can come up with the rest of the money needed but my dream car will almost be complete soon

I still don't understand those tie-rod's and how they can increase turning radius without changing Toe??? Maybe the joint allows the tie rod to move in a grater radius?
this part \/ (below) where the tie rod pivots allows for greater range of motion?
    ------[]-
But then it seems you would be limted by the teeth on the steering rack??
Also they said something about them being better for lowered cars? I have NO idea how that gets changed? Maybe by the same attribute as spoken above? Since the pivotable part of rod can move further Up/Down as is well as front to back?
ALSO.. How are the Kazama tie rods ends different than the moog? (disregard prettyness)
Dousan_PG
03-31-2003, 02:45 PM
ok
tie rods
i heard it also had to do with the angle???
i'll tell dorifto to reply i think he knows
better for lowered cars because you have less chance of breaking them going off track or hitting something
moog has bushing still or rubber
kazama is pillowball
