My check engine light and brake light stay on even when the car is off and locked. Does it have a timer or something?
Is it a common problem is 240? Its a s13 with a obd1 dohc ka in it.

What about the other lights? Usually the cluster gets power as a whole, not one light at a time.
The 'Brake' light is from your ebrake handle connection going bad most likely... pull the plastic part off, and you'll see a wire near a spring - if that's falling off, it'll be on all the time.

just those two lights are on while the car is off. The ebrake is up.

If you have power to the whole cluster, you'd see your blinking oil pressure light too probably - if you turn the key to 'on', does anything change in the cluster?
I'm trying to narrow it down to cluster or ignition relay.
