I was cruising yesterday and my friends told me that my exhaust smelled bad. So we went to my friend's house and took a look at my exhaust, and the exhaust's insides were dirty. As if it was coated with charcoal. No less than 1 month ago, i got my new exhaust and 2.25 inch piping from cat to the exhaust. Anybody know why my car is polluting so much? I dont think im running lean.

My friend suggests that I clean out my tank with some cleaner from pepboys and clean my injectors. How do I fix this problem? Thx in advance.

If anything you would be running rich to really deposit alot of crap on your tail pipe. Is your car bogging at low engine speed do you notice a lack of power or are you throwing a code.

My exhaust looks the same way ::granted I have no cat:: and I think it is normal. Walk up to any car and wipe your finger inside the tailpipe and see if it's clean

Just sounds like a dead catilytic converter

My friend has had his exhaust installed for 4 months now and the insides are still very very clean. It could be a dead cat converter, but the previous owner said he just got it replaced. I've had the car for a good 1 month and a half now. The car does boggle a little at low rpms. Should I clean my fuel and injectors?
