hey guys, i've got a 95 s14 with a strange problem. the cluster won't light up, but all the other indicators will (high beam, signals, seatbelt, etc.). i've also noticed the lights for the licence plate don't light up either. I took out the cluster and replaced the illumination bulbs with new ones but no luck. i've checked the fuses under the hood, none are popped. my only other guess is that the stalk on the steering column has somehow gone bad...but the regular headlights work. i just bought the car and the previous owner did have it painted since he added some sideskirts. no history on the autocheck of any accidents. any help would be greatly appreciated thanks. oh and the rpms, speed, even the clock on the cluster work fine as well.:bash::confused:
Did you check the dimming switch?

yeah that was one of the first things i tried...cranked it both ways and nothing happened. i suspected that as one of the first culprits but when i noticed that the lights for the licence plate didn't light up i started to wonder if it was something else.

if all fails it maybe your dimmer switch that maybe broken.

could be a short take a 12 volt tester out and get to work if you have a DVOM that would work better
