okay i have a 93 240sx fastback with a S14 Zenki blacktop sr20det. i need to replace my coolant temp sensor and wondering which one to get? do i get the s13 or s14 temp sensor?

this is the s13 sensor

this is the s14 sr sensor

i check my plug and it plugs for the s14 sr....

i just want to make sure if it will work on my cluster. thanks

If its for the cluster sensor, you pick whatever chassis/cluster you have. S13 sensor for S13 cluster, S14 for S14 cluster. So for you, S13 sensor for S13 cluster, even tho its an S14 engine.

sorry miss edit. i mean't to say temp sensor to run into my ecu to read when its hot/cold.

There are two different sensors for the coolant temperature; one for the cluster needle and one for the ECU.

Since you have an S13 w/ S14 SR you need to get the S13 SR cluster sensor and the S14 SR ECU coolant sensor.

S13 SR parts relate to the '91 Sentra SE-R and the S14 SR I believe is in relation to the '95 Sentra SE-R...

For my redtop SR I think I used a '91 300zx TT engine temp sensor and that seems to be working great thus far.

which sensor is for the ECU coolant sensor? i know theres two different one by together. just need to know which one runs into the ecu. thanks for the help.

Go to the auto store and order the ECU Coolant Temp sensor for the '95 Sentra SE-R and then order the coolant temp cluster sensor for the '91 Sentra SE-R

You need both.

Gauge coolant temp sensor has 1 wire off it (smaller plug), the ECU water temp sensor has 2 wires (bigger plug).
