Hi i bought an 1990 240 recently, got a good deal but recently when i had it in a position to see under it i noticed some damage around the frame, which seems to be affecting the suspension geometry and strucural integrity of the front clip.
It looks like the passenger side frame rail has taken a blow probably from a curb but im not sure, i have never dealt with frame damage so im just looking for suggestions so i can get everything lined up again the nismo power brace has a bolt missing at the top into the frame and there is a brace at the front that connects to both rails which has broken loose.
My shits F****D UP what can i do?http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu279/CaliKnights209/P1000594.jpghttp://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu279/CaliKnights209/P1000593.jpghttp://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu279/CaliKnights209/P1000595.jpg

Any auto body repair shop should have a frame straightening machine not sure on how much that cost but thats a better option than buying another shell

get a rolling shell, and swap everything over.

radiator core support needs to be re-tacked/welded back into its original position. Its not that bad in my opinion because mine is MUCH MUCH worse.
If I try to jack my car up from under my rad support, the rad support will begin to move only. (but your not supposed to jack the car up that way anyway)

After you repaired your frame do you still notice any problems that affect the suspension much? Did you have a professional do the repairs or did you pull it back yourself? I was messin around after i noticed it and it seems like with the support free the frame is fairly malleable. I was thinking i could beat it back into position but im more concerned with the suspension geometry still being tweaked oh well.

That sucks, but like ATL said, it's not that bad - that's not "frame damage" in my opinion. You should be able to have a body shop weld that up for you no problem.

lol
what a jackass..

if you want to be ghetto, get tie strap and crank the two together and weld it and call it a day.

or you can take it to a shop and have them do their thing.

i'd hardly call that frame damage. just do what the other said and go to a shop to have them weld it back together for you. if you want to see frame damage, come by my friend's house. lol

Yeah im probably going to take it to a shop and see what they think of it, maybe get it up off the ground to take a look, but it drives cool for dd, i just want to get the suspension all aligned so i can fix some other things, I have 18's on it that are too close for comfort to the coilovers and it rubs a bit in hard cornering so drifting and performance driving are on hold till i get it all straightened up. But its cool to know its workable.
