I saw fluid in the ground and look under the car, i saw a hole on the cover... my diff is welded. it still runs but not sure for how long. should i replace the cover with an extra one i have or replace the hole thing. but something shot out and made this hole... i'll going to take it off later today and open it, has anyone had this problem??

some times with bad welds something might fracture and brake a weld and send teeth flying through the cover. You are lucky that the whole rear end didn't lock up with that happend. I definitely get a new diff.

yeah thanks, i still have an extra one but it's open diff... but it's better than a broken one huh! i'll switch it today!

hole in differential cover itself?

swap it out for the open or upgrade :D

I'm surprised you didn't hear it when it happened...

If you were local id say have Matt weld it, Hes welded over 60+ diffs, noones EVER had a problem, His gf car is still going on a welded DD and its at like 3 1/2 years on a welded so far.. he does good work, he takes his time and does it right.

yeah i got it welded here in vegas, it's limited where we can go... there are the pieces and the broken weld!!! lucky me i had an extra one...

That's the worst welded diff I've ever seen. It looks like a fucking 6 year old did it with a soldering iron.

yeah dude. i have slapped together some quick welds on my diff and its still holding up after 2 years.. that must of been some shitty welds.
