Hey guys I need some help. I just got an 89 240SX coupe with the HUD. First and foremost I will say that this car has been an electrical nightmare, but thanks to these forums most of the problems have been fixed. The problem I am having now is two fold.

I had to replace a capacitor in the HUD to get it working again but now when I start the car it says I am going 10MPH at idle in neutral and it goes up as I give it gas. does anyone have any idea what this could be, because I am a little stumped on this one.

The second problem is that my turn signals stopped working after I reinstalled the "fixed" HUD display. I have checked the fuses and aside from the interior light fuse being blown (which it wasn't before), everything seems good.

Was it an auto? Or stock 5spd?

If a 5spd swap was done, it could be that the speed sensor could be wired wrong.

Also does your hazard button work? IIRC if you dont have the hazard button conneted the signals wont work.

Lol, I am an idiot. I didn't have the hazard button plugged up. That is what the turn signals didn't work. As far as I know, It was stock with a 5 spd in it.

LOL... Well at least one problem is fixed.

Just hot wire the speed sensor. It might be getting power from another place, which is making it read incorrectly.

Ok, I hate to ask but how do I go about doing that?

Sorry, this is the first car that I have really worked on so I am still learning it

Yellow/Blue and Yellow/Black wires from the speed sensor need to go to the cluster.
