Ok I was wanting to install switches under my dash or seat that would bypass my ignition switch. (ie so I wouldn't need a key to start/run my car). But I know that if you don't have a key in the ignition, and turned over, that the steering wheel locks up.

So is there an easy way to disable this? Or if I apply current to acc and/or run w/out using the key ignition will the lock even enable?

uh. . . I hope you have good door locks :P

Anyhow, that is a mechanical lock. The only way to disable it would be to remove the wheel and dismantle at least part of the steering column (to see what needs to be removed or jury-rigged to get things to work).

Most folks who use a pushbutton ignition use the key as well. Put in and turn key, push button, vroom.
