I'm buying an S13 front clip. What should I get the 180sx or the silvia? Black top motor or red top motor? Is there anything else I should be looking for?
black top will be newer and most likely less miles

I totally agree, even though I personally like the red top better, the black top will have less miles, which equals less problems. Black top for sure!

why.. is there a particular reason other than price?
Only difference is that the red top came in all the S13's except the newer 180sx (1994-1997). Someone correct me if I am wrong.
Newer might mean less miles but I'm sure you can find a few good red tops with low miles. You do pay for what you get.
Good Luck w/ SR :D

thats true, but you usually can't be certain on mileage.
There is a higher probability of getting a low mileage black top.

The colors :D , red stands out more than black.
plus the red on the redtops goes good with the red 240s and the other colors, nissan is smart :) also the reason they want more for the silvia clip is because it will likely come with fenders, bumper, hood, lights some of that anyway and 180sx is what u have now.
