Is anyone as excited about this movie as I am? It was my favorite book as a kid, when I first heard they were making the movie I was so excited but kinda hoped they wouldn't ruin it for me... you know, never meet your childhood heroes type thing. Now that I have watched the trailer I have high hopes and my excitement is back up.
watch the trailer here:

i heard the studio didn't like the direction spike jonze was taking it and made alot of changes. hopefully it doesnt stray too far from what he envisioned. he is an awesome director.

The only down side I see to this movie is that a bunch of people are going to be Max for Halloween, especially the pseudo hipster kids around my area, which I wanted to do for the past two years but can't find a 'onesy' pajama in my size. Either way, the movie will be awesome, can't wait.

Where The Wild Things Are was one of my fav childhood novels.
Very stylish and somewhat morbid artwork and interesting story.
brought back some great memories :)
i'm sure it's something even adults enjoy.
i'm going to go pick this book tomorrow!
song & the editing was cool too.
it's 'Wake Up' from Arcade Fire, for those interested.

Thank god the studio stepped in!!!
The guy does music videos and skateboard videos.
Fucking FAR, from narative film making!
The only thing he did was John Malkovich which was cool, but way off the deep end. And 10 years ago.
I just wish there was more original material coming out.
Kids arent even gonna learn to read anymore.
They will take there "instant gradification" asses to the video store or youtube and never learn how to use there own imagination or creativity.
society is fucked in the future, but hey, fuck humanity, the movie should be cool!!

Its a pretty dark and sad movie. Not intended for kids, I went in with a different mindset about the movie since people was thrashing it (Mike Mancuso and Jason Kim) lol. Anywho I had fun picking the characters apart and seeing what they represented. I keep telling people that its one of those movies that your professor will make you write a paper about.

I saw it and I think people who expect it to live up to the book they read as a child will be severly disappointed. As a movie overall its maybe a "B" or 3 out of 5 stars. Like THE_PROPHET said it is dark. Personally I think they took a movie that could have been great and made it just meh.

I agree with you guys. They kill it by not making his room turn into the forrest like the book.
Monsters were kinda creepy :bite:

I was too old when I came to the US to be a fan of the book
(although I'm familiar with it)
being a fan of Spike Jonze I knew what I was in for
and the movie delivered
it's dark and surprisingly deep in a psych-college-discussions-way
but definitely not for children
- I heard kids left test screenings crying and hence why the film was delayed a
year (Aracade Fire song used in the trailer was a hit a year ago) and studio stepped in
in any case, I liked the movie a great deal

Do not bring children to this movie!
Well, unless you're getting ready to give them a big talk about life/death, sex, etc.
I really wanted to leave halfway through.

Saw the movie Monday night. My girlfriend thought it would be an amazing movie. I thought it was going to suck. I saw the movie with expectations of it being sad and dark, and it was. It was an alright movie I guess. I wouldn't go see it again. The movie gets progressively sadder and sadder. haha.
